The management dynamics at TC could play an interesting role in what happens next with this messy software release. Normally it is the company vs us (lots of small lenders). But with TC there is another body of opinion, the sponsors, for whom TC is facilitating their livelihood, at least in part. Several of the sponsors have been seen regularly on the old forum, and all have made good efforts at keeping on top of the Q&A's. It would be very instructive to know what the sponsors are saying to TC in private at the moment. There have been several calls on the old form to revert to the previous software release. My view is if they can fix the Q&A visibiliy issue quickly and withdraw the new forum I think they will buy themselves enough time to fix the minor bugs in the software over the coming weeks. I feel sorry for the sponsors who have loan requests currently live, particularly whoever is responsible for the segway experience company which was going to be tough sell at the best of times. Edited to add: The 'Priorities' thread on the new TC forum implies it is not just forum posts that go AWOL ... all internal messaging including deposit notifications are liable to not reach their destination. This is definately going to impact on the requests currently live. Agree with all you say. And now the content of the new forum has been deleted and replaced by a sarky post from guess who. Edit: It appears that this may have been nothiong more than a c***-up, in which case I apologise.

I am not even going to rise to the bait. Least said soonest mended but I am not impressed. Fortunately the number of posts lost between writing and posting has been so high lately that I have copied everything before I post.

Perhaps we should just leave him to talk to himself. Seriously unimpressed.

I'd say don't read too much into a thread title. Yet.

In my opinion it's quite clear on both the forum and the website there has been insufficient consultation with members and pre-launch testing.
Not sure whether it's due to:
1. Impatience to get it launched or 2. Arrogance - 'we know best and don't want to listen to what you the customer needs / wants' or 3. Insufficient funds
Shame because up until the launch of the new site in my view TC was the most credible of all the platforms

I'd say don't read too much into a thread title. Yet. Whilst it was inevitable that the threads accumulated over the last few days would need pruning sooner rather than later, the manner in which it was done in my view reflects badly on the judgement of a senior manager, however frustrated he is after a weekend of fire-fighting. Sadly some really good posts have been lost, including this one from Alison yesterday afternoon on the "Tablets" thread in the midst of a discussion on various android devices "I could do with some tablets at the moment "

I have been on TC for well over a year and have a six figure sum invested through the platform, up to this point I have been a huge fan and attended the recent conference which affirmed the club-like atmosphere. However I am hugely disappointed by the roll-out of the new website We were told that we were getting a whole new system with a new, more sensible user interface. What we have actually received is a fresh lick of paint on top of the old system to try and make the site look trendy because it supports mobile devices. However the result is a very slow, thoroughly confusing mess. I know they are on a tight budget but the money would have been better spent sorting out the performance issues and features rather than the dressing up. I am sorry for the negativity as I am in IT so I know how hard these systems are to put together and I am sure it has been a large amount of work to achieve this launch but I don’t think it has addressed many of the members concerns around the TC technology. I really like the business model from TC; with the use of loan sponsors and the members due diligence but I wonder whether a competitor will come along and leverage the model but use far better technology. At this moment I would seriously consider supporting it (except to get my money out of TC I will need to use the new website and am not sure whether that feature works yet). Am I alone in this view ?

I want to be careful that I don't cut off my nose to spite my own face and so am happy to stick with TC for a while longer yet. However I just don't understand why this exercise has proven to be so difficult for them. Just speculating but perhaps its something to do with the age of those involved??

Been on TC for just a year and have been very happy with it all. Got a bit nervous with SM3 as the system seemed to creak a bit, but then it settled down. With this release they have not done themselves any favours, but it will settle down again.
What concerns me more is that I do not know where it is going. Always been very happy with KC but psm worries me, the way he treats us all like children and his obvious desire to get the big boys involved. When FatCats becomes a more appropriate name then I will be on my way elsewhere.

Just speculating but perhaps its something to do with the age of those involved?? Absolutely not. A lot of us wannabe fans are seriously wrinkly. I think the problem is that some of the indivuduals involved (one in particular) do not recognise that, while they may be extremely good in some areas (and they are, and we love them for that), they are not good at everything. It's kind of a Greek tragedy really. Ref mrclondon's post earlier, which is absolutely on the ball, we will have to wait and see how it plays out between the chief protagonists.

He is tremendously creative but he is also an arrogant so-and-so. The question is whether KC (and us) can manage to channel his energies to our (and his) mutual benefit.

He is tremendously creative but he is also an arrogant ... Let us maintain a level of decorum here please... we share a rich language full of alternatives.

I am certainly not going to give up on TC, at least the new platform ´mostly´ works, and is a big improvement for mobile devices. It is nice to know this p2p forum is also available in case they do kill-off even the old forum. The new forum is just about useless in its present state. Strange how all the new posts in past 3 days have been deleted, rather drastic action eh?.
