It's the first day of the new tax year and Ratesetter have taken down the Tax Statements for enhancements. Couldn't they have given us a few days to run them in order to complete self assessments? I have a tax refund due so want to complete my self assessment as soon as possible. Delaying it means I'm losing interest on my refund.

Agreed.... Of all my 10 P-2-P platforms RS is the ONLY one that is going to take 3 months. All the others I downloaded this morning. COME ON RS - GET YOUR ACT TOGETHER!!! 3 MONTHS ?!?!?! Seriously ?? RateSetter

My tax return is complete and ready to submit, with the exception of SOME P2P platforms. Not good enough RateSetter particularly if the 3 MONTHS is correct!

Going well for RateSetter today, still showing 17/18 on the ISA application.

Good to see that some people are anxious to get their tax return done on the first day of the tax year.
You are to be commended!

Maybe we like having our houses in order and having one less thing to worry about? Why would you put off until tomorrow what you can do today?

As mentioned in the OP, I'm due a tax refund. There's no point spending hours faffing around to eek out extra percentage points of P2P interest and then leaving £5K sat with HMRC until Jan next year. As above, why put it off?
Anyway I've submitted the self assessment now. I manually added up my interest from Ratesetter. All the other banks and platforms I use manage to display the interest clearly, except Ratesetter who have decided to work on a 'FCA compliant tax statement'.

I too would like to have the tax statement asap, however can I please ask where the 3 month wait is mentioned i.e. was it a quote directly from RS? On the statement page it merely says, available soon. In previous years that has meant 2-4 weeks.

It would be helpful if the RS representative could clarify when they expect to provide the 17/18 tax statement and perhaps why the text on the tax statements page differs for different investors.

Interesting. Mine has slightly different wording: I get "We’re enhancing the RateSetter account tax statements and expect 2017/18 tax statements to be available soon. We’ll be in touch when you can download your tax statement." Maybe they are AB testing

Maybe we like having our houses in order and having one less thing to worry about? Why would you put off until tomorrow what you can do today? Allow me to give a reasoned and erudite exposition of the many justifications for a considered delay in tackling issues of this kind: Well, maybe later...
