A private treaty sale occurs when a property is listed for sale with an asking price, the buyer makes an offer to the agent, who then presents the offer to the seller, who can then decide whether or not to accept the offer.

Probably being bought by the nice H******an lady who borrowed the cash from us in the first place, or her impecunious student daughter

If on the other hand they have sold it for a capital loss prior to the auction then this will be very disappointing.

if this waterfall sh*t isnt sorted out then LB and LY will be seeing the majority of any funds from this disgraceful situation that we were led into. it will be interesting to see how any returns are shared out after all this time.

Surely if they were offered a low value they would simply put it in the auction (unless they are trying to mitigate the auction costs?). There must be some rules governing the sale of properties such as this as they have a duty to the lenders to get the best price.

Well private treaty could be more beneficial, Allsops have it on offer for £6million plus. There could be more than one buyer (hopefully) and someone could offer over the asking price.
There's pros and cons for both private treaty and going to auction . Lets just hope their doing the best for the lenders and not themselves.

I am a little confused by your post. Has the property been sold by private treaty or is it still going for auction?
