After applying for an account recently I expected the usual malarky about not being able to confirm my ID through online agencies (I've always had that problem). As requested by Welendus, I emailed copies if my passport and bank statement last Wednesday (6 working days ago) but apart from an auto-acknowledgement I've heard squat. Maybe they're in no hurry for new lenders

Maybe they're in no hurry for new lenders It must be a constant problem for platforms and by implication us, to get the flow of funds in to match the funds out. Welendus is probably more in need than most platforms to balance that right. They need to be able to fill small loans instantly so need a cushion of funds, but at the same time must realise that lenders hate idle funds. A very tricky thing to get right I would suggest. Maybe a holding account paying a viable interest rate restricted to a maximum holding per investor to act as a buffer fund may be the answer long term. But yes I suspect right at the moment they are in no great rush for new lenders, and you seem to be 'surplus' for a while. A months time and they may be desperate for you.

gave up waiting for them to reply to emails asking to sort out my account hopeless
no problem setting up elsewhere
