Whilst the lack of comment from WeLendUs is surprising, starting rumours that they may have been hacked is irresponsible without evidence, as no-one would want to invest via a website with security holes.
The possible rebranding as 'Fund Ourselves' is NOT fake news, as they have added the new branding to their FCA register entry.
The contact details section contains the new website url www.fundourselves.com ( which has a Coming Soon holding page and redirects to WeLendUs ) and in the Trading/Brand names section 'Fund Ourselves' was added on 14th March 2019.

I want Welendus to do well, hence my concern. 'Fund Ourselves' is such a poor choice that I find it hard to believe. I'm just hoping that WL does take note of this thread, as I do want them to do well.

I guess we will soon find out what Fund Ourselves will offer in the future. Right now, not operational in lending it seems.
Similar short term loan lender Cash on Go has multiple branding as well, one registration and multiple trading names.

nsiam "Funding Ourselves" is IMO a very poor choice of brand name. It could be open to misinterpretation that the company mainly exists to fund a nice lifestyle for the directors (as has been suggested for another P2P platform which is being closely monitored). "Don't complain to us, we are only funding ourselves. FO!" I think you should have a rethink. I'm sure that forum members could offer many good (serious) suggestions; why not canvass free opinion.

"We lend us" and "funding ourselves" logos represent the same concept. Good concept, but I don't think the latter title is a viable idea. Apart from confusing existing "congregation", the "f ourselves" name can can trigger inappropriate jokes whenever something goes wrong... Welendus is a good name for platform - keep it

I've just noticed yet another sign of the impending name change! I withdrew some funds today (too much queued!) and the bank transfer has appeared in my account as being from "FUND OURS LTD". Edited to add: D'oh! It's also announced on their home page now. But they promise that their services will not be "effected".

The press page of Fund Ourselves has not been updated, still have tons of links with "Welendus" reference without mentioning the name change at all. To be fair, the press page quotes actual press coverage which they can't really rewrite, but I agree that an explanation of the name change would be in order. They've shown no such restraint regarding the testimonials on the home page, though. I've found the original comments on TrustPilot and can see that references to WLU by name have been changed to FO in the text on the home page.

The name change now appears to be official, as I (well "Test First Name", whoever they are) received notification by email. The newsletter also indicates that the queues should be getting back to normal, which I do hope is the case.

I really don't get why they've bothered. It seems to have exactly the same functionality (with all the same problems) as their previous interface (other than the more confusing name for queued money, which is now called a pool).
And, we've swapped one stupid name for another stupid name that can, and will, be abbreviated to FO!!!
I guess at the end of the day I won't really care as long as lending returns to normal (the old normal, not the new normal). If not i'm going to have to FO.

I don’t think the name change will attract more borrowers as a Google search doesn’t bring them up prominently.

I seem to recall thinking Welendus was a low quality name, as to me I read US as in United States and felt it indicated a focus on the American market, but this name is even worse.
Not a P2P site I use (although I might have a tiny Seedrs holding under the old name) - I don't think the new name makes any sense at all either.
3rd time lucky maybe?
