Which platform do you used? How difficult is it to withdraw the money? Too much volatility to keep any serious money. And lots of platforms have been raided, so not a good place to keep your coins.

Coinfloor is reputed to be the most reliable and secure. I sold at the wrong time earlier in the year when it was going down down down! Finally lost nerve and sold at its lowest price 2.5k but still managed a small profit! (should have held on) Would not contemplate entering at current price personally, as I originally bought 2.2k . Cannot be sure but I think 'Whales' control the market which swallow the smaller fish every so often!

Which platform do you used? How difficult is it to withdraw the money? I have never actually owned any bitcoin. But I have bet on price movements on a spread bet - I used IG. You do need to understand what you are doing and be careful with the size if you go this route. One thing to realise is that you are not selling GBP. If you buy bitcoin on a spread bet and the the coin remains unchanged vs $, but the pound falls you won't make money like you would if you converted GBP into Bitcoin. (Equally if the pound rises you won't lose; you could place a similar sized bet on GBP/USD at the same time.) No CGT on spread bets. You do need to understand the financing - work out for yourself what the daily funding will be.

Hope no-one was using Bitcoin for their flight to safety.

Even with that fall it is still ridiculously overpriced. I'm a buyer at £500 per bitcoin.

Which platform do you used? How difficult is it to withdraw the money? Revolut allows bitcoin trading, I brought some a while ago but sold out as far too volatile for my liking.

Hope no-one was using Bitcoin for their flight to safety. Had they held or bought at the bottom.. they would have made a nice profit, by early June it was over 10000, and still over 9000 today.

I think one would probably be wise to have a small toe dipped into the crypto water as part of diversification, and especially with government debt rising everywhere. My goal is 0.5% of investments. Not there yet. If it disappears, can afford to lose it. it it takes off, won't miss out. I see at as a long term hold (10 years+) - too volatile for shorter term, unless you relish high stakes day trading.
