I'm assuming AML is anti Money Laundering in my vote - to my knowledge I have never been requested of AML docs - mind I'm not sure what they look like anyway and have not applied for any new accounts in a few months now.
Wouldn't most companies use the standard 3/4 credit check companies to do these checks and if not at the very least check electoral registers unless you mean business versions of the checks. Ignore me though If I am barking completely up the wrong tree. (I tend to be more so as I get older!)

Are you referring to providing AML documents on opening a new account with a P2P platform or being asked to provide documentation on an established account?
Does this relate to the usual Proof of ID and address or some other AML documentation?

Does this relate to the usual Proof of ID and address or some other AML documentation? Not specifically related to KYC procedure related proof of address & proof of ID. Just documents relating bank accounts / specific transactions. Some platforms request bank statements before releasing fund to bank accounts 1st time or changing method of payment. In the case of Lendy, the administrators insist on further documents on some investors before releasing fund when withdrawals have been made many times before administration.

I am only in RS and Zopa and they would have used varying available credit data to check me I think!. Are some companies systems requiring to be retrospectively updated or are you targeting people taking up new accounts. When I read up about AML, on my assumption of its meaning, articles seemed to suggest that most companies would cross check with other typical credit reference data such as electoral register etc. of course not everyone is registered for voting I expect or worse even eligible to vote in the UK.

Honest question - when you say you've "read up" on it, how have you done that? Because even a simple google for "anti-money laundering" brings up sufficient material for you to be... more informed....

Initially i wasn't sure i had the correct meaning of aml in the context of the question - there were quite a few definitions of those 3 letters. I assume no one corrected me i was in the right area. As far as i can remember the last time i was checked for aml requiring me to present passport info or a utility bill was probably 3 or 4 years ago. Most recently i assume my credit details containing electoral registration details and numerous bank details coupled with my postcode info confirms my id for most thing electronically. I joined RS last nov and again do not remember being asked for the docs types in aml. I dont know but i assume the electronics can tell what type of property i live in does not share post boxes etc. Mind you my memory is not what it used to be. Do i need to know more. I assume i am abnormal or the companies i have joined for finance stuff are not doing their job correctly but that is not the point of this thread. Edit: I'm guessing as i am not laundering money but i could presumably still be and supply enough info required to get in the door.
