Loan update this month. The house has been cleared and BC are preparing the property documents to go on sale later this month. I hope he didn't trash the place or let it get too dilapidated.

Somo have received and accepted an offer, looks like we're coming to the end of this saga.

I'm not in this one but follows a similar pattern to other long running ones. The odd monthly update has been skipped so presumably they'll be another one in the next few days. Reading the history, it's a reminder to me why I don't lend on Scottish properties. I wonder if regular residential mortgages are more expensive in Scotland ? I was only asking Greenwood because you joined the thread so late.

A very odd comment, I'm not sure what you are implying, but looking back through the thread I could say apparently you joined rather early for someone not involved. I may have read this thread in the past but had nothing to add, there are now actual developments to comment on.

Glad to see movement, I was looking at rightmove from time to time and never saw it go by - did anyone else see it listed?
Hope they got a good price and we get a fair chunk of the outstanding interest, but after the debacle with fundingsecure I would not be astounded if I got a fraction of the capital back.

I can see it on Zoopla. The price looked pretty reasonable, over the original value and well over the loan amount and 'offers over' Scottish style. Then it just depends what costs Somo will take out for chasing the borrower. Edit: I should say assuming I've got the right house, but I'm pretty sure it is. Or rather was, I just went back to check and it's gone!

I was looking on zoopla and rightmove but could never find it..
however i now found it on the estate agents site. you will need to do a google search using keywords......
seems the original valuation stacked up (was reliable).
I doubt we will get back all our interest. We would if no there were no fees to pay. (afraid to share my calculations on here)

I did look on the estate agent site after I found it on Zoopla, but immediately forgot the agent's name and it's now gone from Zoopla! It does look pretty nice, hope it was an offer well over.

Cannot think of a reason not to post a link
I cannot guarantee this is the one, but there are similarities between the pictures on somo site and estate agent, seems vacant and there are only a few of the bigger houses in the crescent.
<Link redacted as it identifies a secured asset>

I was wrong, I can be shocked, now why don't all P2P work the way they are supposed to.

I was wrong, I can be shocked, now why don't all P2P work the way they are supposed to. The problem is they do until its too late which is why some folk pool their time and do a huge amount of research/DD on the loan, the borrower and of course the platform. Any whiff of a problem and its dumped. Unfortunately, I think that is the only way to be successful long term in p2p.
