I have tracked my winnings ever since I held the full amount in October 2006 (and have increased everytime they upped the limit).
To date my winnings average per year percentage is now 1.52%. My best year was 2007 when I made 4%. My worst year was 2017 when I only made 0.85%. I've made £8025 since October 2006.
My average for 2019 is 1.75%
There has only been 1 month in 2019 when I didn't win anything. Total winnings for 2019 £875.
I would only advise having premium bonds as a relatively small percentage of your overall portfolio. A useful addition if you're looking for extra baskets to put your eggs in.

The deed is done, so wish me luck!
Here's another PB tip: Invest at the end of the month to gain eligibility into a draw sooner

Here's another PB tip: Invest at the end of the month to gain eligibility into a draw sooner Great tip. I should have put more eggs at the end of every month, it may be better than my RS current strategy and having both working together.

Here's another PB tip: Invest at the end of the month to gain eligibility into a draw sooner Great tip. I should have put more eggs at the end of every month, it may be better than my RS current strategy and having both working together. I'm glad you think so. I struggled with my wording for a bit as there is no change in the draw you're eligible for but by delaying your PBs purchase until the end of the month that eligible draw not only comes sooner but you also earn interest elsewhere on the money right up until the moment of investment (assuming from an instant access type of account).
For those not familiar with how PB draw eligibility works, it's because you need to have held them for at least one calendar month before they can enter a draw.
So whether I'd invested way back on the 1st of this month, today, or somewhere in the middle, the first draw they become eligible for is the February (2020) one.
If I recall correctly though you needn't worry about that one when choosing to reinvest the prizes, as they always go in to the very next draw!
p.s. carol167 if I ever end up with the £50k permitted maximum then I really will feel like I have made it! (I've only really thought of PBs as a viable option - and a bit of fun - for me in more recent times)

Just checked my winnings out for the last year and it was 1.0055%, not brilliant but secure.

You can just type in your holders number to see what you have won without having to log in each month on the second working day. I've just got 2x £25 this month.

There is also an andriod and apple app you can download onto your phone so to don't need to keep typing in your holders number each month

Can you take this PB chat somewhere else if you don't mind? Yeah I was getting a bit confused lately, perhaps one of the mods could move this out as it bears little or no resemblance to the title and I keep getting "Participated" calls to come here but its not relevant.

If you are banned for 2 weeks if you make a withdrawal was wondering if one could open an isa and deposit in that new product. Rather than the non isa product. Is that a good way of getting around the withdrawal restrictions?

Is that a good way of getting around the withdrawal restrictions? Yes, you're only blocked from the Access account you withdraw from - you can still invest in your other Access account (provided you haven't withdrawn from that in the previous 14 days).

If you withdraw from E/D access and move over to ISA access make sure the rates you are moving from will be better than the rates on the ISA side. In my case I have higher rates in Access E/D than I could hope to get in ISA at the moment so even after tax its not worth the bother.
