Um, I don't like to be the odd one out, but 5k or 10k at the current 1yr rate of 4% plus 1% cashback looks like a good deal to me. The 6 month rate of 3% (p.a.) and still with 1% cashback looks good too. Even better for me because I have £2000 maturing on the 16th from the previous cashback promotion which I'll withdraw. If you haven't topped up for a while and intend to take part in this offer, note that Wellesley have changed their bank details sometime in the last 6 months. The cash back offer and the current rates are competitive, but I agree that the new rates are unattractive unless you believe that W are lower risk than RS.

Thanks for that tip, I nearly sent cash to the old account. Wellesley: this is terrible! How can you make such a change without informing existing customers? Probably all of us have a proforma payment to you already set up in our on-line bank accounts showing the wrong account details.

I've been unable to access the website for the last hour so I can't check whether I have the correct bank details. edit: Tried the link in W's post below - no joy.

webwiz, the Lloyds account is still in use. Details given to new customers and the details on the secure site have changed as the first phase of a long process to improve our payments systems for uploads, withdrawals and interest payments.

Same error with Landbay. Perhaps the laws of physics are breaking down? It appears that both use nginx

mrclondon Thank you. An update as to the site access. The problem is affecting only certain ISPs (Internet Service Providers). The only ISP confirmed affected is Virgin Media, but there are a couple of others. Domains that are registered through GoDaddy are currently being blocked by these ISPs, no one is sure why. So affected customers are unable to access any site whose domain name is registered through GoDaddy. Therefore We hope that the issue shall be resolved as soon as possible for those of you affected.

Yep! I'm on Virgin Media. ...and so am I. Did look on the VM website as they are usually to blame, but didn't see anything when I looked.

Put a bit in today, invested it, got the cashback and invested that too. Not bad for a days work and many thanks to wellesleyco and all the other elves for making it happen so smoothly. Shame that there should be better rates elsewhere in future so it won't be worth re-investing the interest received.

It wouldn't surprise me in the least if W needed to revisit this again early next year. Now they are on a 'par' or close to it with the more established passive P2P lenders then I expect inflow of funds may slow to a trickle. I have a 12 month maturing in Jan so that's destined to be pulled out ATM for pastures new. The others are mainly 3 year. Interesting times.

I would have thought W would try to keep a clear 0.5+% above RS, but never mind .... we all have options as each W tranche matures.
PS Website visible now - Virgin have made friends with Big Daddy (or who ever they are).
