Unlike Funding Circle and Zopa, Ratesetter was profitable last year, making £618,468 before tax" Does this mean we can expect to see more mugs making an appearance in the near future (don't think any of the original tranche got as far down the A303 as Devon)

Maybe posh teacups instead of mugs then.

I can see the logic in RS investing in marketing , new staff and a larger office. But why in the City of London ? Aren't office rents in in Southwark high enough ?

Believe me, if you knew our CFO you would know that we won't be over paying. They've been looking and negotiating for a long time now. I'm not a fan of the new location (I like where we are in Southwark), but we'd outgrown the office space. In terms of new "mugs", I'm hoping for some espresso cups and new umbrellas. You can be sure I'll "borrow" some and distribute to the needy. @ westonkevRS

I'm happy to have a second-hand mug, and don't drink espresso... but an umbrella? That would be VERY useful here on the fringes of Wales, y'know. <shameless beg, scrounge, plead>

When I read that at first, I thought you meant umbrellas for the cups, like some sort of fancy espresso cocktail or summert. Are you coming to the Manchester investor drinkies, westonkevRS ? We Mancunians appreciate a good umbrella.

I can't, I went to (my first) Uni in Manchester and there's still too many people looking for me... You could always petition Rhydian to fly me in and out in a day.....

Interview with Rhydian for a PwC blog: pwc.blogs.com/fast_growth_companies/2015/10/fintech-we-meet-rhydian-lewis-ceo-and-founder-of-ratesetter.htmlI like the following: " if you put size and geographic diversification to one side, we would love to achieve a system whereby everybody gets at least the market rate of interest, so that our system becomes almost a benchmark. The way our system works is that it's actually the supply of and demand for money that drives our rates....
....we'd love it if the RateSetter rate became “the going rate” for money." Basically provide a more honest market set LIBOR or MPC rate. Although obviously this is way off in terms of size and liquidity. But 26,000 lenders is better than a committee of 9 or some dodgy traders... Kevin.
