Announcement today.
"CrowdProperty has signed a £300m institutional funding line agreement with a new major investment manager. Institutional capital further strengthens CrowdProperty’s offering for lenders as this improves our capacity to fund larger projects"
Not sure if this is good or bad news for us small investors?

It is good news for the platform and for investors as it provide profitability and stability but the move to greater Institutional lending is not necessarily so for Retail Lenders - it hasn't been the case in Thincats.

One aspect that I suppose benefits retail lenders is that platform risk is mitigated.

£5000 max bid reduced to £2000 for today's offerings! Looks as if our slice of the cake is going to be diminished significantly!

At least the institutional investor has done some dd work to the company and underwriting, which I assume is satisfactory so they decided to work with CP. As long as CP allocate via random selection, then prob no difference between insitutional or retail

Institutional trumps retail. The founders and major shareholders usually monetarize their success and move on. Then the new owners or major shareholders have to maximise profits i.e. lower rates for retail. Doesn't matter how it ends : an IPO, private equity, takeover or new religion, retail loses out. We've seen all 4 scenarios, Funding Circle, Lending Works , Ratesetter, StrayCats/Landbay. Some just end it gracefully with their reputation and dignity intact ready for the next challenge like Growth Street.
Enjoy the spoils while you can, don't over commit and hopefully other retail P2P companies will fill the void and kick ass the deserters.
