I never pay to watch football out of principle There's no "principle" here. I simply find it utterly uninteresting. I went to a football match once - a friend worked for Red Star Belgrade, and got us in free while we were in town. It was some international competition against a French club. Watching the rest of the audience was more fun than what was happening on the grass.

I am sure we are all expected to pay for football with the TV licence and higher price of branded goods which include advertising charges. The BBC dropped Formula 1 years ago when Ecclestone vastly increased the cost and also Moto GP, but they still choose to pay for football snooker tennis and athletics, none of which I am interested in watching. WE are always ripped off here, 3 days admission to British GP is about £1400, on the other hand for less than £1000 I can fly to Belgium stay in a decent hotel for 3 nights and get in on the 3 days.
