Andrew wasn't a total waste of space, he did fight in the Falklands war as a helicopter pilot in very dangerous missions. He was also always a bit of a playboy, but I would be surprised if he needed to resort to a girl provided for him for sex. He always seemed to have any number of willing girlfriends. He didn't need to resort to a girl provided to him for sex, but when offered a teenage escort by his paedophile mates I don't believe for one minute he declined. He's only been kicked out of the royals after his 'you can't prosecute me because of a technicality' defence has fallen down. Time for this country to finish the job Cromwell started, dissolve the monarchy and flog off the crown estate to fund the NHS. And aj for President I suppose?

"Close ranks"? She's just fired him. If they're closing ranks, it's with him on the outside. J ust guessing but I imagine they must separate the family from Royal Family bit. In particular the mother is still mother and he hasn't murdered anyone. In her Royal Family role, he's sacked him though (no doubt under advice). They do. "The Firm" takes precedence over 'the family' (or perhaps more precisely, over any single constituent part of the 'the family')

And has he done ANYTHING useful in the 40 years since? his career in the forces was 22 years long. His mil service and Falklands war efforts in particular should be retained in the 'Credit' column. [Though I had read he wasn't particularly liked by his peers, principally because not surprisingly he didn't consider them to be his 'peers']

Also, does anyone else remember the 90s/00s rumours about him being gay and the marriage with Sarah being a smokescreen? I remember thinking something didn't quite ring true at the time - Andy was, after all, the man that led me to ask my mother what "Randy" meant in the context of "Randy Andy" Anyway, I've always had a soft spot for the Queen and my heart absolutely goes out to her morning - between this and news that 10 Downing Street was partying til dawn the night before she had to sit all alone at her husband's funeral in front of the world...poor woman.

If we work from a point that the Giuffre/Epstein stories are true, then would it be a huge surprise if some of his "activities" turned out to involve younger men being procured and provided, as well as younger women?

They are apparently people and the mother-son relationship is far more important than a boss-employee one to most people.

Agreed. And to think her "annus horribilis" was thirty years ago...

hold on, I'll get a fence so we can have a proper gossip I'm picturing Les Dawson as Cissie Braithwaite chatting to Ada.
