Doesn't sound appealing, agreed, but once you've tasted it there's no going back! As for taking culinary advice from the US, the nation that adds corn syrup or palm sugar to so many foodstuffs, including their disgusting bread 😝...... Some is so sweetened that it cannot even qualify as bread in the EU. 😁 yes my cousin from the US thought British milk was "disgusting;- it's so sour, and the wrong colour"

so for those of us on here that consider Haggis* to be an essential part of life's culinary pleasures, what is your particular brand of choice ? I am automatically excluding such abominations as 'Vegetarian haggis' and 'low fat haggis' from this discussion, as they simply do not qualify for the haggis moniker. Last night's was Macsween. I only know because I checked the ingredients list following agent69 's post above, and was slightly perturbed to find "minimum 32% sheep lungs", which seems rather high! I might ask Mrs Dolt to compare the labels more carefully next year, if I feel in a brave mood. There are some things in life you're better off not knowing.

Haggis are facing extinction like other small mammals, think about that when you're tucking in. oh god you're my dad aren't you...and something mumbly about their right legs being shorter than their left legs because they only run clockwise around mountains, right?

Only the males. The females have longer right legs than left. The two run in opposite directions, and mate where they meet.

I have been doing some mathematical modelling (or as I call it guessing). The outcome is that larger ones would be found at the base of the mountain and a regular reduction in size approaching the top. Wind kilt disruption theory would suggest most practical harvesting would therefore be at lower altitudes. The conclusion being that evolution will create smaller and smaller haggis (is Hagi the plural) until effective distinction is inevitable. Maybe there really is a God.
