An improvement Mike!!! - my goodness what I was being asked to do was so ridiculous that you really couldn't have made it up. Maybe the paper exercise was a way of them treating the money as being new. Totally balmy. I bailed out anyway. I had a bond paying monthly interest which when it matured, I was asked to verify who I was in order that they could transfer the balance into the same account that the interest had been going into!

I was raising an eyebrow at your avatar until I read your post. I understand completely, and hope your feeling better now.

....I'm filling my boots as a P2P Lender irrespective of my professional position. Hi Kevin (1st post!) Given the nature of RS where rates can move up and down during the day, do you have any plans to introduce Faster Payments funding? I don't like leaving dead money in accounts on the chance it will get loaned out at a personally acceptable rate (yes, Zopa, I'm looking at you!) - so it would be nice to be able to deposit cash into RS at short notice and have a chance of taking advantage of those rates, such as the 3.7% bond you mentioned a couple of weeks' ago. As you know, Zopa do utilise FP. Also, while we're on the subject, I would definitely have taken advantage of the above rates had I noticed them. Maybe a nice feature for the future could be e-mail alerts (you know, e-mail me when the x-year bond hits at least x.x%). Cheers!

Unless you are fastest-finger-first capable, you may find that the email triggers a lot of people to pitch in (who wouldn't otherwise have noticed), and the rate gets pushed downward. For example, when westonkev posted, the rate seemed to drop shortly after as people piled in and then undercut

E-mail notifications is an interesting idea... I'll pitch it to the team on Monday and see what they say, and get back to you.

Wobble, to my great shame I don't know the precise payments scheme we have in place (I am in Risk after all....).
From a personal perspective I deposited cash on a Saturday once and lent it straight away, this was when we had our infamous 99% 1-year bond special. So it probably depends on who you bank with (I'm with HSBC but RateSetter is with one of the other big high street providers).
However, if nothing other than for my own benefit, I'll confirm the precise payment speeds depending on method and any plans we have to upgrade.
Kevin.

Kevin - FYI, I bank with Santander, if it helps you any. Usually, my payments go to payees "instantly" via FP, but always appear next working day with RS. Cheers!
