Agreed, and it's been going on for some while, but at least the BBC has started to address it at long last. It's imperative IMHO that our prime national broadcaster remains as honest, factual and impartial as possible, and long may they strive to achieve that.

Is this an idea of "impartiality" where the chair of the board and the director general can be very staunch supporters of the regime, and presenters can be very overt in support of the regime - but not oppose it?

I wonder what a poll more recently than last November would show?

I'm generally broadly positive, and supportive, of the BBC. But the recent news about Boris' loans, and the Lineker kerfuffle, have definitely damaged my view of it as an institution.

The only real issue I have besides the fact the comparison between the Tory Party's policies and those of the Third Reich is deranged and probably offensive to jewish and ethnic minority members of the tory party, is he works for the state broadcaster. If he worked for Socialist Worker TV then no one would care what he said. Because the BBC is basically tax payer funded and "meant" to be politically neutral to a certain extent I would say there is an argument for the BBC to sack him. I dont have alot of detailed knowledge about Garry Lineker and his views, but I have got the impression he is very much part of the virtue signalling left wing establishment and would probably call for someone who said something offensive, right wing and provocative to be sacked, which if they work for the BBC they probably should be - I guess it is an example of live by the sword die by the sword.
