Are you going to clean it before despatch - i hate picking up a mug with coffee stains in it, esp. as a tea drinker. Since the deadline is still a couple of days away, I'm clearly running a poor strategy as I might get 'sniped'. However, on the basis that this is a charity donation and that you have very kindly offerred to pay for p&p, I'll make a £10 bid. I would chuck in ownership of a £20 loan part for the crappy scrappy, but thankfully I have none to give away. P.S. I thought the official position was that it i 'lilac' not purple. P.P.S. Of course westonkev could put in his own bid in order to reclaim it. I have not used the item in question so comes complete with original and genuine 'eau de RS office scent' still lingering on it. Am sure that raises the value significantly and rumour (uncorrobated) has it that this article was once used by Rhydian himself further adding to the unique status and potential resale value of this antique piece. Any advance on £10?

Now, to make this auction a bit more lively, and to ensure it can't be hijacked by bots, here is a potential strategy: 1. Run the current fixed price auction through to original deadline. 2. At that point start a seperate "bid your x pence per Ratesetter Mug" auction 3. Once final bids are in on the latter, open up a poll to forum members asking the question "Are you a Ratesetter mug - Yes or No" 4. The winner is then the higher of the pledged amount arising from either the fixed price auction 1, or the multiple of per mug committment x number of declared RS mugs. Just a thought.

I didn't want to spoil the last minute bidding frenzy but I will be otherwise engaged for the rest of today, so I'm going to have to put in a £20 bid now. It will be fitting if I win because every time an "Important update on your Flugelhorn Crumplers account" pops into my inbox I can look at the mug and think at least I made one sensible £20 bid this year.
Hopefully there'll still be a last minute bidding frenzy, come on folks it's for charridee!

Only 4 hours left folks so please make sure you get in early as having to live the rest of your lives knowing you missed this opportunity could haunt you forever. As markr has mentioned it's for charity, but not only that it's your choice of charity so you can ensure this goes to one close to your heart rather than just dropping some more cash in a can when the high-street corner charity muggers highwaymen collectors next shake their boxes at you. Get in before 17:00 GMT today or consider the fact that you may NEVER own an RS mug for the rest of your life.

Damn, just got back from Hereford to discover I missed the deadline. Oh well, maybe markR will auction it off in parts - he could put it through the AC Shrapnelator, then everyone on the forum could own a bit. 8>.

Good choice and thanks for posting that Mark.
Your mug is en route, hope your first cuppa will not be tainted by the lilac smell.

Well done, markr!
Good to hear that you are already enjoying a cuppa, but did it have that "lilac smell"?
