Many p2p lenders have a link to a tax statement on their websites, any plans to introduce this feature? Or if it's already there how is it accessed. (Also a means to export the account statements)

Hello!
They are both at the forefront of our mind and should hopefully be implemented on the new site, if not on Day 1, then certainly within a couple of weeks (ie. by May at the latest). If everything goes according to plan, we'll have a great interface for users to pull down whatever information they need. If there is anything else that you think is worth adding then do let us know... we love an excuse to beat up the web developers!
Happy Easter!
Andy

I did try and give Ablrate a heads up by raising this in early December to give plenty of time and not fall into the trap other platforms had. p2pindependentforum.com/post/31278/thread
So it is not great than it is not already on the site and sounds like it isn't in the first release of the new system, rather implying it isn't written or tested yet. Disappointing !
Can I also take this opportunity to remind ablrate that others raised the issue of the tax treatment of the instant returns - see further down the thread linked above.

ablrateandy Not good enough. The tax statement should have been in place for the close of the tax year. Did you not know it was coming? I suggest you get your finger out and sort it.

Hi All
We are sorting a manual tax statement for those who request them. We understand that it would have been good to have it on this system, but at some stage development has to stop on one and begin on the other, so we have put our efforts into the new system where tax statements (and pretty much all other account information) will be downloadable.
Regards Ablrate

As I'm due a refund the sooner I do it the sooner I get paid. Such a basic feature as a Tax Return should be a given. Have a nice day.

You've got over 9 months to complete your tax return. While that is true, for people who are anticipating substantial tax refunds a delay isn't good idea. Fortunately HMRC will accept estimates and Ablrate is doing manual statements on request, so it's not a big issue. And not an issue for me at all yet because my first loan isn't complete.

Personally I have cut'n'pasted all my transactions into a spreadsheet, cross checked that against interest shown at the end of the year (I took a screen prints on the 5th and 6th) and I have all the evidence I (and my accountants) need.
No big effort, took minutes.

Hi You can request a tax statement and customer services will do them manually for you. We are working towards a full suite of reports and downloads of your data but it will most likely be after the auto-trading function is complete as we would want o be reporting on that too. Regards Ablrate

hi ablrate ablrateandy A year ago today, trying to be helpful, I pointed out the lack of tax statement/cert on your site p2pindependentforum.com/post/31278/thread and we still don't have it ! Will you commit to it being there by the end of the current tax year ?
I did request this years from customer services but it must be a real waste of time for them when it can be computerised so easily. There were 2 or 3 separate mistakes in mine so I'd rather not go through that again. Also guessing you have more lenders this year than last so even more of a burden for customer services.
