It seems with these latest changes Unbolted has become a completely hands off platform, I think this will make it fairer for everyone (I say this as someone who got invested into a number of the smaller loans but I think fairness is important)

It was fun while it lasted but we can't have any complaints, the new system will be fairer. Be sad to retire this thread

I'm certainly not going to set an autolend level for the business loans so there may still be an element of manual investing in this type of loan if there are enough people like me. If not, my investment total will obviously drop, but that's life.

Be sad to retire this thread Don't worry; there'll be another thread full of moaners complaining that they are never in the "random" sample being allocated small loan parts, and that the platform is favouring one set or other of investors.

I'll only be setting a very minimal level for the business loans.I'd rather do some DD on them owing to the fact they aren't generally covered by the provision funds. That said, they also tend to be significant larger, so should hopefully still allow for this.

Random does not mean an equal distribution so I would question whether this could be described as fairer. It will be fairer for some than others, only we have no influence on the outcome as we did previously.
Also it's quite odd how unb implement these changes without any consultation with their lenders.

They will need to set a limit on minimum that the algorithm will go to or we could get tiny fractions. This would increase computing memory costs at ubl.
Totally randomised on a loan by loan basis will, over time (6 months), deliver the fairest result for all.
Ubl could do a rolling randomisation but this would introduce unfairness. You would have funds on account issues or have allocated your money to a slow filling large business loan.
New system is fairer to majority. It helps smaller investors and those not able to monitor e mails as said elsewhere.
Good work unbolted.

I work from home so quite liked the current system...I'll miss the minor adrenaline rush when you notice the email 5 mins late! Oh I've become a very sad individual over the years

Quite a lot of activity today. 4 auto-lends including one in a £490 loan. I'm only drip-feeding small amounts of money as I'm close to the limit of what I think I should have in p2p. £21 of my £25 deposit that landed today lent out is pretty good.

No random fivers again today, but about £87 in other bits so far, so things are getting back to normal.
