I am perplexed by how the 5 year market is looking at the moment (see PDF below).
How can there be any money left at 6.5%??

There isn't now. I've been transferring in all my four bits from 3 year into 5 year at 6.4% then 6.5% and they have all instantaneously been matched at 6.6%, presumably to the one large borrower. Some similar happened in three year where a large borrower came in at 5.6% when money was available at less. Here are two 5yr screen shots from about twenty five minutes ago Attachments:

My theory: when a big borrower wants cash he must ooffer a rtae that will get it. Today that might mean hoovering up all the 5.7, 5.8,5.9....to 6.6%. If that means hoovering up about 1000 small lender offers, that will be done (taking time) from the bottom up, ending with the 6.6 lender offers. Drop your rate to 6.5% to make sure the loan isn't satisfied before it gets to your offer.

I think the system is still hoovering up all the money being thrown in at <6.6% instantaneously first. All mine has long been sucked into that 6.6% loan despite being offered at 6.5%.

Why isn't that matched? I also have money at 6.6% which isn't being matched. What is even stranger is that I had some at a higher rate which I decided to drop to 6.6%. As I changed it I got a rate changed and matched notification on the screen. My existing money at 6.6 which is surely better positioned in the queue remains unmatched.

The matching seems to have slowed down considerably ... can't think why the existing 6.6% offers aren't now taken up. Maybe new lenders are still drifting coming in at <6.6%.
The loan hasn't been formed yet. Drop your rate to 6.5%. It should be allocated immediately and you still get the 6.6% for that loan.

That's Crazy, I followed oldgrumpy advice (which in itself is not crazy , changed my rate to 6.5 from 6.6 and it matched at 6.6 when is should have matched previously !! Oh well the end results the same but not sure if I want to be checking Ratesetter as closely as this really.

Yep, the MR/YR changes made this year have made "active investing" on RS considerably more labour-intensive than before. In my case that's meant exploring other investment options which require less effort. As a direct result of their changes my RS investment has declined by around 20% since April.

That sounds like the 2 decimal point rounding issue is back from last year. i.e. The Borrower is offering at 6.59% which shows as 6.6% but the existing lender offers at 6.60% are actually at 6.60% (so no match) and when you changed from 6.6% to 6.5% and matched immediately you got the 6.59% which then shows as 6.6%…. Mad but link as below from last year... p2pindependentforum.com/thread/1492/where-money-stand-queue?page=7&scrollTo=26346

5.7 when I looked this morning. All matched at 6.6 now.
Even better, I had an early repayment yesterday that was on for less than the 6.6% its now earning.
Had a rummage down the sofa and topped up a little more again.
(But yes agree, its weird to move by a whole percent point one day.)

Pure guesswork but looks like some 1/2 million has gone out at 6.6 so far today, any guesses as to what MR might be tomorrow?
