I've no problem being chased if I haven't followed the correct process, but I don't appreciate it when I've already funded my BACS deficit (within minutes of it being created). New process needs refining!

Hmm not like SS. I can only suppose that a lot of people have been abusing the system and applying for amounts that they have no intention of buying. That would be my guess too, unless they're trying to make sure we all get the cash-back , however, it looks like the warning system is 24hrs ahead of itself. Of course moi doing things properly has never (yet) got one of these warnings .

It wasn't an option - the call was from an automated machine! Not very impressed.... Might it have been sent as a text message? I've had some of those sent to my land line, and my phone provider seems to have used a text-to-speech engine to convert the message into an automated voicemail. Yes, it probably was a converted text message. Anyway, the BACS system has now caught up with itself and no longer regards the account as delinquent.

I run 3 SS accounts (personal, business and my partners) and after yesterday I had a BACS deficit on all 3. Cash was sent from two different HSBC accounts (personal and business accounts) within minutes last evening and today my personal and my partners accounts show zero balance but the business account still shows yesterdays deficit.
Never had an issue with the deficit not being cleared before, anybody else experienced such an issue?

Yes, it can sometimes take a few days - if its still unresolved and SS send you a chaser just reply by email with the date you transferred the money across and they will find it. In my experience delays are more likely just after large loans have gone live (and there have been a few of them recently!) as that leads to a large increase in volumes for them to process.

Cheers, I've pinged a Email to cover myself, just seemed strange that 2 out of 3 payments made at the same time got dealt with and the other is 'missing in action'.

Were they large enough that you might have hit some FP sending limit imposed by your bank, so that the third one might not have gone at all, or been sent by a slower method? (Does BACS still exist?)

No on both accounts so there is just no 'logic' in why the payment hasn't gone through.
That said, HMRC were kind enough to send me a tax bill today (for Jan payment) with a large 'on account' sum included, I wonder if I could have the same issue again
