I'm also grateful to thanks to ablrate & ablrateandy for listening. Since this is about small loans I would support keeping an upper limit on pledges, perhaps 1% of the value of the loan. This could reduce the risk of people depositing large sums and bidding for more than they really want when they expect to be scaled back. See the Saving Stream board for a discussion of gaming their system, where some people started by bidding three times what they wanted and some advocated bidding nine times what they wanted on the grounds that "everyone was bidding 3x"!

Yes thanks guys. Let's hope yesterday doesn't happen again. Coincidentally my Ablerate share of P2P is similar to duck at 6% and would like it to be higher, but was starting to doubt. P.S. I was VERY frustrated yesterday but didn't send the text!!

Mine's still just under 5% and would like to at least double in both actual size and percentage (am about to enlarge my pot so not actually the same thing)

However this will be very different on Ablrate. On SS the gaming is people placing bids they have no expectation of honouring as there is no requirement to fund the pre-bid and with a liquid SM they can get away with it. With Ablrate you will only be able to pre-bid if you have the money sitting in your Ablrate account, I think this will remove a lot of the gaming that seems to occur on SS.

Yes, surprisingly responsive to the problem and the need to deposit the cash should limit the overbidding. I have 3% of my p2p through Ablrate and I hope to double that.

I've said before I'd like to increase my investment in Ablrate but the fundamental problem remains the lack of loans. If there were a more consistent flow of medium sized loans there would be less of a feeding frenzy and less frustration.
I was one of the lucky ones who got some of the last loan but I support the planned changes to spread out the smaller loans to more people.
But more than anything else I hope to see a flow of straight forward aircraft loans in 2016. When ablrate first started they consistently said they had a strong pipeline of aircraft loans so I've never really been able to understand what the issue is. Maybe it was that the potential deals were too large for the small investor base ? Don't know if there are more of us now but I do know that it there aren't enough loans to invest in and to provide sufficient diversification some of us will drift away which will only make matters worse.
Fingers crossed for 2016.
