Well, I've been faced with a few "do it now, or run the risk that a) it will be worse / harder to fix later, b) we might not have control over when it goes wrong, and c) that means it will happen at 0300 on Sunday morning" type problems.
Not saying that's what happened here, but IT situations that present you with decisions like that do happen.

Somebody else (pre)deploying their ISA account technology I presume? Hope yours causes fewer problems than FCs just did Anyway thanks for the heads up - I'll try to sleep in tomorrow rain storms permitting).

Quick warning, there'll be another IT upgrade from 7am for 30mins tomorrow morning (Thursday 14th April). Primary site will function, but the members area will be down.

Kevin, you really must stop believing what IT guys tell you .. 'upgrade' is what we like to say when we really mean 'we will be gratuitously messing with stuff' .. unless of course it really is going to be better (less pale purple?) after they get through. It is faintly possible, but rarely seen outside of captivity. Anyway, thanks again for the heads up.

Whilst that time slot is a radical departure from what I've seen elsewhere, it actually works nicely for me... Is any any of this functionality which we should know about? I think that the regular withdrawal recently got an upgrade (from once a month to now offering once a week) for example, but haven't seen any form of 'release notes'. Of course, it could be just adding an extra percent to all rates, which would be fine!

Seems the IT guys are busy. There will be downtime on the RateSetter platform between 6:00am and 8:00am on Saturday 23rd April. During this period, the maintenance page will be deployed for the Members site and no transactional services will function.

Not a 'website problem' as such but certainly something in the code that sends out the automated emails has changed and it isn't right. Specifically I'm referring to the email that tells you that your lending order has been matched. This evening I received one and I noticed it was different because the subject line said 'Fully matched order' (I can't remember what it said before but I'm pretty sure it wasn't that).
The first paragraph of the email said:
"Your reinvestment order Onnnnnnnnnnnn for £16.04 at 6.4% in the 5 Year market within your Everyday has been matched. Thank you for investing with RateSetter." (order number redacted to protect the innocent)
I'm gratified to learn that my lending order in the 5 year market within my 'Everyday' has been matched but can anyone tell me what my 'Everyday' is?

RS have tweaked their systems... Everyday is your account name as opposed to an ISA account (coming soon*) or SIPP account. www.ratesetter.com/invest* soon could be any time this tax year though.

"Everyday" seems like a poor choice of name to me. This would confuse me too if I hadn't read it here.

Thanks for the explanation. Assuming RS will let me change the name of the account, I'll think of something better so the emails construct intelligible sentences. I have so far managed to contain my excitement over the impending ISA account but if I get to name that as well, I think some sort of street party may be in order.

Well I've just looked through all of the information that RS allow me to change through the UI and although I can see in the 'Contact Details' section they're referring to my account number as my 'Everyday Account Number', there is no option to change this description. Hence I return to my original assertion that the order confirmation emails read like gibberish and will continue to do so until RS fix them.
Looks like the street party is on hold.
