I won't be able to log on until 5.30. I wonder if it is worth transferring funds across. So this is the purpose of this straw poll
NOTE 3rd OPTION SHOULD BE £1000-£1500. And 1st should be <£500. Can't see how to edit poll. Thanks to Stevet for pointing out typo.

I've got nothing of the last 3 loans. I don't understood why platforms wish to concentrate their investor base on people who don't work.

General question for a newbie on these lease loans -
I understand the principle but can anyone explain why the cars cant disappear? or alternatively the costs of repossession and onward sale?
I can then make a decision on voting! Whether i get any is a different point
Thanks

Every vehicle is fitted with a GPS tracker and immobiliser.

I have just realised that I already hold 4 of these AE/CLC portfolios and so I think that satisfies my appetite for this type of investment.
It would be useful if "existing exposure to this company" was shown on the MT website either on the Pending Loans list or Loan Details page.

I spent time on the customer website yesterday and noted a few things. The cars they are selling are roughly.... 45k miles, 6 years old cheap models, and they are charging aprs of roughly 60 to 100%. So the rates are above pawn broker rates. On top of the loans they buy and supply the cars which means they make a margin on the buy/sell.
I spent some time looking at a Bradford based AIM lender to the credit unworthy a few years back. Interesting business model which has expanded rapidly in the last 5 years (200 year old company) based on car loans but even they don't get these rates or make the margin on the buy/sell.
So there are going to be a lot of car "recalls" or loan failures, and while the GPS are fitted the issue for me is the car valuations. Ok using Glaziers (I just know that is the wrong word) is a good test but something tells me they are buying the things for less far less than that price, lets say 50% at auction.
Now that model begins to worry me more.
At this moment not sure how much of these do I want, shall be mulling.....

Morning, We have added a note at the bottom of the loan description to show linked borrower. In addition, I would also point out that all these loans are prefixed with AE (as opposed to MT), to denote the Partner relationship. Regards, Ed

MoneyThing thank you, I think that is a useful enhancement and added really quickly as usual! For me, the ideal would be to show the amount that I have already invested with the borrower so that I don't have to search for each loan in the loan list and add the values together to calculate total existing exposure.

Acknowledged. As we are about to go into year 2 of MT (from February), we are in the middle of discussing what technology enhancements we want to incorporate into the platform over the next few months. We have collated a list of all the suggestions made to date on this forum and have started to outline how these could be developed and the level of work involved. I think it would be useful in due course to share our proposals to get some final feedback before starting work. Will revert back. Kind regards, Ed.

This is what I like about Ed & MT. We havent even got the results of this year's unofficial awards, which I suspect MT may do well in, and already he's working on winning one next year ;-)
