Afternoon, The five new loans (£475,000), that were due to launch at 4pm today has been postponed until Monday 25th April at 4pm. This slight delay has been caused simply by the logistics of getting the funds from multiple lenders transferred to the right place before close of business today. We are sorry for any inconvenience caused. Kind regards Sophie Afternoon, Further to MrsThing's post above, we have just received confirmation that all the legals have been executed late this afternoon. As such, I wanted to ask lenders whether we should retain the postponed 4pm Monday launch or perhaps launch it sooner (e.g. tomorrow/Sunday 4pm)? Feedback appreciated. Kind regards, Ed Evening, Thank you for your feedback. As such this loan is now going live at 4pm tomorrow (Saturday 23rd). (Email also sent out). Kind regards, Ed

Gaaaah.... guess I'm finally going to be finding out how good my bank's FPS really is....cos no-one other than MT would ever process payments out of hours anyway, and I withdrew all my uninvested cash earlier when everything was postponed.. Or I could be selling quite a bit on the SM tomorrow

Seems totally automated with near instant transfers any day of the week. I can have two bank browser pages open, send money from one, refresh the other page and the money is there in the destination account. LW

LW Yeah it's Santander but I'd never tried it when I really needed it out of regular hours before (and would be able to see the results, after all no-one's as quick as crediting as MT!) and I've noticed NW is quick but don't do much with it.... another of my banks however has a very clunky retrofitted (semi)FPS - incoming payments are credited pdq during biz hours, but outgoing payments don't actually go until the next biz morning! (there are other reasons why I choose to keep it!)

Yes faster payments are 7 days now. The size of payment allowed will vary from one bank to another though, they all set their own FP limits. If it's the first time you've made a payment the cut off time might be earlier as well, as there could be extra checks from the bank's end.

Yes faster payments are 7 days now. Not all banks operate faster payments out of hours, at weekends or on bank holidays. I have one which refuses to let you make a payment unless it is dated the next working day, although it actually does the transaction immediately, and I have another which refuses to do anything until the next working day.

Just to add the FP limits may also vary for a bank depending on whether the receiving bank is in the same banking group. You can of course make multiple faster payments to same recipient to get around any limits.

You can of course make multiple faster payments to same recipient to get around any limits. Some banks set a daily limit on the amount you can do through FP, irrespective of the number made. That's true, usually an overall limit across payments but sometimes a limit to each recipient.
