borrower is given on the platform as being an unnamed sole trader, Does this mean that he sells soles (souls) to the devil?

lendingcrowd Last update on this loan is dated November 1st, 2016 15:28 Comment #9 By way of update the CCJ process continues - we anticipate the Judgement within the next 10 days. I am not sure if I learnt to count at school, but if I remember well 1 + 10 is 11 and today is only the 5th . . . but wait it is December now.

If it involves a visit to his house and a large box of live cockroaches, then I may be supportive But, hey, this loan is just in arrears - not even defaulted, eh, lendingcrowd ? Edit: I've been a bit mean lately, so perhaps I should note that I've not seen a "something bad's just happened" type note on a loan in the last month or two after the last flurry. Things on the up maybe?

lendingcrowd, seriously. 9 months with no repayments, how is this not a default? I'm aware there are some loans on other platforms where loans can run over this long, but they're related to property projects where defaulting arguably would not be the best way forward. Whilst I appreciate we're not going to get our money back any more quickly if you declare it a default, what you're currently doing is clearly obfuscating your statistics. Also, your promised update is now 13 working days overdue (20+ including weekends/Christmas).

Also, your promised update is now 13 working days overdue (20+ including weekends/Christmas). And here it is... Apologies for the lapse of time in providing an update. In December we instructed for an Agent to visit the borrower to take the initial steps to agree proposals. Within the industry it is usual practice to put recovery on hold just before the festive period in terms of treating customers fairly. We requested an update last week and are currently waiting on a report from the Agent. Whether it was worth the wait is another question.

Just waiting for the "borrower has announced he is bankrupt" notification and that'll be that all tided up. Whatever happened to that valuable lease btw?

To lendingcrowd: If the recovery process had to be put on hold just before the festive period, why did you promise an update for the 18th December 2016? (as per your previous update of 8/12/16) Our legal representatives have confirmed that our CCJ has been granted. They are now pursuing the borrower for his firm proposals for repayment of the debt. A further up date will be provided within next the next 10 daysDon't come and tell us that you are not aware of the industry standard practices.!!!!

<fanfare> The king is dead! Long live the king! Does it mean that there is no chance for recovery ever? Even if in part?

<fanfare> The king is dead! Long live the king! Does it mean that there is no chance for recovery ever? Even if in part? If there's a recovery, it'll be a recovery payment, so our balances will increase. In the meantime, it can go as a loss for 16/17 on the tax return.

Disappointed that they have called it a loss when they are filing for bankruptcy. Surely during the process of bankruptcy they will be able to raise cash. Labelling it as a loss means that most will forget about it and no one will chase LC for the recoveries.
