Bought in on this one. The teeny sculptures are fabulous, but I hope nobody sneezes and destroys the entire collection! I joined Funding Secure and Saving Stream at the same time, but I am definitely preferring Funding Secure. It's nice waiting to see what will come in the door next .

If the microsculptures are valued in excess of £3,000,000, it's difficult to see why the other two items have been included. Without them the LTV would still be <11%!
Best wait to see the full details tomorrow.

I suspect ianj might have thought the Louis Vuitton bag and Pinocchio were separate items, not realising they were 2 examples of the micro-sculptures perhaps?

This guy and his work were featured briefly in a historical/archaeological documentary on TV very recently. I forget what it was exactly, but they were discussing some civilisation from the past who it was recently discovered did some incredibly intricate tiny works of art in gold that we can only see properly with a magnifying glass - our chap was saying how amazed and very impressed he was that they managed it without the technology he has at his disposal. I was certainly impressed by the skills of both the people from the past and our man.

I have email picture downloads disabled and mistakenly thought a real high value designer bag was included as security. As to a 'Pinocchio'......? Other than a wooden doll, it might have been another ladies fashion item for all I knew!

Not much of this loan left (£1,212.73 at time of posting), due mainly to £100K being chomped by an underwriter a couple of days back. The email that announced this loan stated that the expected drawdown was not until 7th November; do we think the underwriter amount might be released before then for other people to become involved, or increase their bid? Or will those lenders who have made shadow bids in the expectation of not having to cover until late next week, get a sudden shock in the very near future?

I have been wondering the same, but I always try to be prepared for any sudden shocks!!

Apologies for any confusion - the £100k bid was not underwriting, it was made by a user who had acted as an underwriter on a previous loan, hence the name.
When the loan is full - it is full. No changes for any existing bids, including shadow bids.
November 7th remains the target date for drawdown.
Hope this clarifies everything

November 7th remains the target date for drawdown. Inasmuch as today is 7/Nov... Has anybody here placed a shadow bid for this loan? If so, have you been asked to settle it? If not, I guess that means that the expected drawdown date has slipped. In that case it would be helpful if fundingsecure would give us an update.

To add a bit more meat to this - we received email on the 4th Nov asking us to settle by close of play on the 6th because FS had taken possession of the precious items on the 3rd and the scheduled drawdown was still the 7th. Now I guess it just depends whether everybody paid up when they should have.

Now I guess it just depends whether everybody paid up when they should have. I was corresponding with FS on another subject, and asked about shadow bidders' performance. I was told that all bids had been settled. They must be relieved and gratified by that. No doubt people already will have seen that the loan's page has been updated to say that drawdown will be completed by Monday.
