And now heading back towards 4%. Currently at 4.5%.

Something's on the move... The 5.6% queue's down to rummaging around the back of the sofa - I've got a 5.7% placeholder that was placed on 1st Sept, and is now about £85k from matching. Don't worry, there's a couple charity charlies always around to take it back to 4.5%...

Too low for me but the OH shifted a tidy wedge at 5.6%, just now.

Too low for me but the OH shifted a tidy wedge at 5.6%, just now. I managed to get all of my 5.6% out so I assume the rate might have touched the 5.7% band, still a half million before my 5.9% gets touched that has been sat there all month

5.7%'s flying off the shelf Just had a 5.9% match. My next placeholder is 6.0%, was placed at the start of August - and is less than £250k from matching...

It's a conspiracy, someone is manipulating the markets upwards!

Looks like simple supply and demand to me
A few weeks back there was about £13m spread across the markets waiting to go out (that's net on deposits after loans waiting to be matched are deducted) this afternoon its down to about £3.8M
There seems to have been a significant increase in loans being made
3 year market seems to have been abandoned already, literally only a few matches a day now for last few weeks. Quite a lot of money just sitting there that isn't going to be matched

I think people are not fools, especially with money. A vast majority of people are careful and read all the options and FAQs. Those that don't, well there's only so much you can do I am sorry westonkevRS, I often put your somewhat dry tone down to personality & walk on by, but I'm afraid I must be frank in this situation; have you ever considered looking for a role which is not customer facing? I would suggest that for anyone who by inference would publicly suggest that some of their customers are fools & beyond help is seriously ill suited to a customer services role. I would point out as others have, there is no option to read (i.e. there is no text to give you a clue, no blue underlined text typical of a hyperlink, etc.) when it comes to guessing to click on the last matched rate. Someone suited to a customer services role would be thinking "how can I improve this area". I would welcome a link to an FAQ that mentions clicking on this area. I as (I like to think) a diligent investor & extremely curious person only found that I could click on the last matched rate some weeks after starting to use RS (I would never use market rate, having seen the Zopa like insults of money being matched at ~2% in the 3 year market by it). As one of my fellow 'foolish' investors said reading this thread, I thought when I found it "oh, that will save me a few clicks", not "oh, I can set my own rate".

All my 6%ers were swept up. The demand surge of September must have happened yet again. Sadly I suppose it will be back to 4.5%, now.
Never mind, in three months we'll have the January demand surge. Until then I'm hibernating!
Oh, Kev, I think you're a lovely person considering the abuse you sometimes get on this board.

I am sorry westonkevRS , I often put your somewhat dry tone down to personality & walk on by, but I'm afraid I must be frank in this situation; have you ever considered looking for a role which is not customer facing? Well to be fair to westonkevRS his "customer facing role" on these forums came about by virtue of his being an active P2P investor, an active forumite, and then a Ratesetter employee. His RS flare here should be interpreted as meaning "RS employee" more than "RS customer services", or even "RS rep". I have my issues with how RS operates (and which have been discussed by many people ad nauseam), but given that Kev's "work" here is entirely voluntary in nature I think it's to be applauded - I'll take the odd pithy comment in my stride .
