As some bloke said 'Not the end, not even the beginning of the end but perhaps the end of the beginning' Unfortunately I have a feeling the borrower might have taken inspiration from other utterings from the same source ... you knoe the one about fighting and not surrendering.

Ah yes, truly an inspiration to the nation. "Never will so much be owed to so many by so few" Brilliant well done. double like I have found “In finance, everything that is agreeable is unsound and everything that is sound is disagreeable.” but I'm not sure where that gets us. Moneything vs Lendinvest perhaps?

Hi ablrate I notice that the company still shows on CH as being dissolved. When can we expect to see it listed as resurrected and what are the timelines for the next steps please?

Hi ablrate have you now had your date with the insolvency company, and what happened? If not, when will you be seeing them?

ablrate said ". . . we will find a solution to make sure lenders do not lose out." This seems either to be a rash promise, or a promise that Ablrate will make up any shortfall?? Just to remind ablrate what they said. I still have this somewhere. I hope they will be true to their word, unlike the guy who they let steal our collateral. Just saying like.

The specific post that you refer to is this one: p2pindependentforum.com/post/136561/threadwe will find a solution to make sure lenders do not lose out.
As interest continues to accrue it becomes more expensive by the day for them to honor this - I'm a bit surprised that they haven't decided to buy us out of this loan while recoveries are pursued.

Personally I take that to read that Ablrate will make good any capital loss to lenders on this loan, not necessarily pay out any accrued interest.

...but if they don't also make good the accrued interest then I have lost out.

...but if they don't also make good the accrued interest then I have lost out. If you take the logic of that to the extreme then you could argue that they should pay you for what you would have got if the loan had repaid on time and you had been able to "invest" it into Bitcoin (as you planned to, obviously, once you had access to the capital). At what point does the recompense for opportunity cost stop? To my simple mind "not losing out" means I get my capital back, any accrued / penalty interrst paid is the icing on the cake (which I will gratefully accept).

Having just your lost principal back as an ex-gratia payment from the platform, when the borrower has defaulted, would be unfair treatment? I think I lost out by selling my small allocation too soon.

Not altogether ex gratia, in the sense that we (I) think they cocked up, and if they hadn't then, irrespective of the bad behaviour of the borrower, I think it's likely that this would have been all over a year ago certainly and probably interest
