The ISP that hosts moneything.com is currently having a technical glitch. Their tech team are busy working on it. We apologise for any inconvenience caused.

Thanks Shuang, hopefully they get it sorted out before you loose much more sleep and it's not one of those issues with lingering trouble.

Morning,
Apologies for the downtime last night. The site was unaccessible between just before 1am and around 4am this morning due to an outage at our hosting company (which affected all their customers).
I am due to get a detailed report from our ISP by CoB today to understand the reasons for the outage and what measures they/3rd parties have implemented (or will implement), to mitigate it in future.
Kind regards,
Ed

I'm sure whatever it was won't have been their fault....even tho pretty much everything can be mitigated these days if people are prepared to invest the time/money, pretty rare these days for outages to be caused by something that wasn't in fact avoidable. Ugh I need a holiday

Ugh I need a holiday I have been using the same ISP for a number of years now and to be fair this is the first outage in about three years. Will wait and see what the report says... Regards, Ed.

Sorry, will have to correct you there.... it's the first you're aware of Highly unlikely that there won't have been some hushed up clangers dropped. But yeah works out to pretty good availability stats (for you anyway) and at least it was the middle of the night minimising the impact.

Ugh I need a holiday Hopefully Ed will be kind to those of us in the general field and give lots of nice but irrelevant and meaningless to most people technical details... At least he probably won't have to explain something like a routine test of a fire extinguishing system causing hard drive breakage due to the noise/vibration level of the system.

No doubt I will need to get The Shuang to translate it for me anyway...although perhaps it will go through their PR department to strip out any complex language for wider consumption amongst non-techies. Happy to share the findings upon request once I have had a chance to read it (and subject to any confidentiality clauses). Regards, Ed

Ah yes I had a good chuckle over that one......and had to wonder if that was actually the real reason behind the "the gas broke them" a few years back (but couldn't remember the full details of that one)...
