It's ominously quiet on RS.
Are we all still in shock or are we resigned to future uncertainty toil and trouble? Or is silence golden?
Any update on the PF stuff?

Are RateSetter expected to deliver a statement on every major event? What's the point, should every company in the UK comment....
.... And even if they did. It'll be reassuring stuff saying keep calm, keep lending. Nothing changes overnight, and Trump being the new POTUS is no different.
"Nothing is ever as good or bad as it first appears."

Strange to see you as a 'new member' Kev. I like your quotation - here's mine....'Plus ça change, plus c'est la même chose'. A French version of yours really.

If it's quote time, I like .. "Nothing is worth worrying about a lot, and most things are not worth worrying about at all" ...

Euripides said 'Quem Jupiter vult perdere, prius dementat'. Modern usage has substituted 'the gods' or even 'God'. It is so, so true.

We're pretty safe then, I'm not even slightly agitated, much less mad. 8>.

And he wouldn't have mentioned Jupiter (more likely Zeus).... More likely to have written: "μετὰ σοφίας γὰρ ὑπό τινος ἀοίδιμον καὶ κλεινὸν ἔπος πέφανται, τὸ ὅταν δ' ὁ δαίμων ἀνδρὶ πορσύνῃ κακὰ τὸν νοῦν ἔβλαψε πρῶτον ᾧ βουλεύεται". Could we ask Donald Trump to translate this, please?

ι εκδηλώσεις θα λάβουν την πορεία τους, δεν είναι καλό να είναι θυμωμένος με τους? είναι πιο ευτυχισμένη που τους μετατρέπει σοφά με τον καλύτερο λογαριασμό.
Euripides
"Events will take their course, it is no good of being angry at them; he is happiest who wisely turns them to the best account."
(I confess, GCE O level Latin- failed!)

True, of course. But the Latin translation was coined by a certain Joshua Barnes in 1694 and attributed to Euripides. 'Jupiter' is usually rendered as 'Deus' nowadays.
