/mod hat off
Even the £100k new AE loan with £400 bid maximum (i.e. at least 250 borrowers) didn't last the whole 24 hours I believe, so there was no way those loans (typically fewer than 10 bites at each one) were going to last until now. Don't hold your breath for the 30th either. 8>.
Hopefully Ed and co will serve up some new larger loans in the newyear, and even more hopefully they'll find us some new borrowers, rather than more new loans from the same folks.

Yup. I was working a 48 hour shift and watched my chance to add more than the minimum bid of 400 die by the hour =)
Now I just need some peeps to sell some older loans on the secondary market so I can diversify from the larger investments made in the newer ones.
Being a recent joiner I feel a little...undiversifed..hehe.
Merry Xmas to you all, and the things =)

I'm new to MT and and share others' frustration any lack of available loans. I was hoping to get a small slice of MTAD617 and logged on at precisely 4pm but nothing left. Is it because it was a renewal? I noticed lots of transactions at 9:15 today when bidding was supposed to start of 4pm - only 1 transaction showing at that time for a fabulous £3 slice of the action?
I've sadly withdrawn some money as I can't see how I can invest it other than £3 at a time based on Fastest Finger First. Am I missing something?

It was a renewal loan and lenders here tend to hold on to everything. The transactions you saw were the investments rolling over. There was only £3 available at 4pm as everyone else chose to retain their investment. If you check the Pipeline on the morning of the loan it will tell you how much will be available at 4pm (once the rollovers have been processed).

There are three loans that I am aware of that MoneyThing are hoping will turn up "soon" including a loan for £475,000 at 11% and 50% LTV which is expected to drawdown on the 6th Jan and thus be available to bid on from the 7th.

I'm new to MT and and share others' frustration any lack of available loans. ... I've sadly withdrawn some money as I can't see how I can invest it other than £3 at a time based on Fastest Finger First. Am I missing something? Usually you will see some improvement in availability starting a day or so before a new loan goes live. Meanwhile you might want to take a look at What's on the Ablrate secondary market? The post is now a few weeks old but gives a fair idea of what is around. Ablrate has largely solved the availability problem using variable pricing. So you will get higher or lower yield (effective interest rate) than the original offer and normally find at least something to buy for almost all loans. You can even create a new bid to buy at a price you want if you like, and maybe a seller will take that opportunity to sell to you at your price, if it is a realistic one.

Thanks all for response - but still don't see how '000s went in no time, apparently almost all at 09:15 rather than 4pm as advertised?

There was only £3 that wasn't rolled over (because presumably only one person with a very small holding decided not to renew). The number of people deciding to renew on MT is typically high, but this loan had an extremely high roll-over rate.

Then went to view the active loans but everything had already been snapped up -- 0.00 available. A game for the lurking around, frustration for others.

Thanks all for response - but still don't see how '000s went in no time, apparently almost all at 09:15 rather than 4pm as advertised? When an existing borrower wants to extend a loan MoneyThing will enable a check box that allows those already in a loan to automatically get repaid then reinvested in the replacement loan. This is carried out on the morning of the day that the loan is due to go live and the 09:15 purchases that you saw are the ones used in carrying out this task. The purpose is to help people to stay invested one they have got invested. For loans that are expected to run indefinitely the check box is available from the start, the AE* loans are the most prominent examples.
