There are more cores on a GPU than a CPU. GPUs can be used to increase brute attaching speeds, just think what is could do for MT 4PM issue. That's very interesting. Would you be kind enough to point me to some descriptions of GPUs doing that with a few thousand customers doing no graphics or HPC work?

MoneyThing just for clarity you said 'the server'. Can you confirm that this doesn't mean you have a single physical device covering the unauthenticated web parts, authenticated web parts and database parts of your site? I don't want to go into details but that would be somewhat worrisome.

Could we stop all the tiresome amateur IT comments? Why not ask if they have locks on the windows and doors too??

Could we stop all the tiresome amateur IT comments? Why not ask if they have locks on the windows and doors too?? There are quite a few IT pros here as well and most of the IT comments so far seem to have come from them. Hmm, do they have locks on the doors and windows that are normally used? Theft of say a desktop computer from Ed's home might lead to theft of personal information and use of locks is far from universal in the Channel Islands and perhaps also in the Isle of Man...
