Not all loan units are still worth the original £100. A bit of the principal is repaid each month, so the system is selecting units as best it can to get as close to your target amount as possible whilst biasing its selection to those with the largest discount. This can result in some seemingly odd numbers being selected. When we revamp the platform in a little over a month's time the system will be able to split and combine loan units as it sees fit so it should always be able to let you buy the exact amount you're interested in subject to availability.
That said if you think the system isn't working as I've described if you could give me some specific examples then I'll get someone to look into it in more detail.
