Same here - RS not remembering either email or password. Having to enter both manually which is a real pain.

Same here - RS not remembering either email or password. Having to enter both manually which is a real pain. Doubly a pain, as I had to set up a new email account for RS - they become unable to send email alerts to my normal address which works for most other institutions - so it usually takes me a couple of goes to get it right.

I emailed RS about this and got the following response "In accordance with a new security protocol we have instigated the website will no longer remember login details. We realise that some customers may find this change unwelcome, but we feel this is a necessary step we must take in order to ensure we continue to meet the highest standards of online security. We apologise for any inconvenience."

It is a relief to know that there is nothing sinister going on. Perhaps RS should have told us about the change instead of leaving us to guess.

A workaround, on Roboform (RF), is to resave the password and subsequently utilise 'Fill Forms' from the RF browser dropdown toolbar. This brings up the traditional RF prompt.
Unsure of other password managers.

They can fix the 'became unable', as they fixed mine. They appeared to be unaware that their bulk email sender had a 'x bounces and then you blacklist the email address' policy (blacklisted email addresses APPEAR to RS to have been sent, but if you wander around the innards of the actual email handler you can find them on the 'quietly dropped' list, and then you ('you' being RS in this instance) can fix it).

We (RS and I) had several attempts to find out where the problem was. They never mentioned any blacklisting software, and they sent me screenshot "evidence" that mails were being sent, so I'm guessing they didn't know about it when my problem existed (Sept 2015). Annoying.

My bank, building society, seven savings account providers, mortgage, three credit card providers ALL keep at least my login name and some also keep my password. Perhaps there is a hidden agenda here that they want to 'prove' they are serious to impress the banking authorities.

I'm running an older version of Firefox (purposely not updated). Never needed to enter either email/password until this update, so a real pain, as I keep passwords etc in cold storage. I have found that my version of firefox only needs me to input my email address and as soon as I click in the password box, it inputs the password. Will not post the version of Firefox I'm using, just so RS cannot change it

Annoying. I had to ask what software they used, go read the documentation, and then point RS at the article which explained the problem. They SHOULD (at least some of them) know about it now. FYI here it the email excahnge I had with them (the tail end of same) " From: **************** Sent: 02 January 2017 12:34 To: contactus@ratesetter.com Subject: Re: missing emails p.s. if you are using exacttarget (now salesforce)'s email studio suite, then you (or someone) might want to check out: help.marketingcloud.com/en/documentation/exacttarget/admin/auto_suppression_lists/and/or help.marketingcloud.com/en/documentation/exacttarget/subscribers/list_detective/and check that my email address, or the domain, is not on the auto suppression list (only you, well RS, can access the information and fix it). The problem for password managers does not appear to be anything to do with this " ..... the website will no longer remember login details." business. I would not expect any website that deals with money to remember login details, but I do expect my password manager to remember my login details and to fill them in for me. As far as I can see they have changed the specification of the password field so that it does not appear to be a password to password managers, so they do not bother to fill it in.
I have tried 2 password managers, both fill in my username but not my password, so much the same as others have reported.
I cannot see how this improves security in any way. Can anyone?

It's probably intended to encourage people to choose really short, easy to remember passwords.... It's certainly done that for me. No more the complex gobbledegook password for me. I've changed it for a short simple one.
