This was a good loan, a highly visible prestige development with lots of good quality marketing. I'm sure it will be a great asset to Manchester. Agreed. I wonder when we will next see a loan of this size and quality in the P2P world. I always felt that the BPFs were something of a welcome anomaly (Birkxxxxx notwithstanding)

This has been my biggest MT and P2P loan for some time and I've always felt comfortable with it. A shame it's come to an end but many thanks to Moneything (and BPF) for making this available to us.

Well judging from the loans available in the SM at the moment we can guess where a lot of funds have gone!! I'm hoping MT have something just as nice in the sidelines although as a very small minnow I'm happy to grab a few pounds of anything reasonable

Firstly my personal thanks to both MT and BPF for bringing this loan to the Platform IMO its success throughout was down to quality of approach and management, there was a clearly definable objective and exit strategy. I echo littleoldlady in her concerns, these are most applicable, there is considerable wisdom to be found in those words. Though my family need for a supplementary income (however small) is perhaps greater than some I have taken the opportunity to markedly reduce my exposure to MT with the repayment of this truly exceptional loan; to property loans in general across a number of sector providers and to hard prune a wider spread p2p portfolio. Perception of increasing risk is the prime mover. Capital preservation outranks income.A re-allocation of funds is ongoing yet this activity remains dependent on the type, quality of opportunity and it's location in provider terms. My training and experience in managing physical risk whilst working in the Oilfield is in daily use here and adds to making the tough and toughest financial decisions. If my 'comfort zone' of risk is exceeded either by loan or by provider then I will either not invest Or I will liquidate. All the best, James. Well said. "Capital preservation outranks income" is what underpins all my investment decisions and is why I adopt a caution first approach. The result of this is that my bank account is fuller than it has been for 4 years and the return on that money is, obviously, below inflation. I have reduced my P2P exposure by about 50% during this year. It's been a good ride that has provided me with my only real income over the last 3 years but as I perceive the risks to be increasing, my participation reduces. This MH loan was of the highest quality and at times I felt over exposed to it given I went into most tranches. But that was a sign of my confidence in both the loan and the platform. I thank MT for this opportunity and the perfect outcome. Sadly loans of this calibre are becoming harder and harder to find but I know the MT team will be working hard to try and bring them to us for our backing.
