Thanks Ed, I took a 2nd bite of the cherry at 4pm today and this is a loan that fills me with much joy.
The lack of noise on this board is a reassuring sign that all is well in the land of MT. On MT you hardly hear the wheels turning it is running so smoothly.

Good afternoon.
I have inadvertantly breached lender terms and conditions with my visit actions. Having reported to Moneything that I had visited they have explained, fully to my satisfaction, the reasoning for the no contact rule. My visit report was positive. That is all I am willing to say.
Please accept my apologies if you were waiting for the report.
Regards S

And taking photos is ok? Whilst, perhaps, talking the site foreman might not be? I had a look through the Ts&Cs and the only thing I could see that might be relevant here is "You agree not to make attempts to establish the identity of or contact any of our other Lender Members or Borrowers". If it's not that could you explain which term or condition was breached? I'm not trying to embarrass anybody here, I'm just curious about what is or isn't permitted under the Ts&Cs. Cheers, RM

Cheers, RM Perhaps T&Cs should be ammended to reflect the realities of the current P2P environment. Without an appreciation of the borrower potentially only half the job is done - facts that came to light in 'another place', too late many will say, underline the importance of this information. Q: "Does anyone doing their own DD not want to know who they are lending their money to?" A: (indignant reply) "No, of course not" Q: "Has the highlighted passage (or anthing else, for that matter) ever dissuaded a lender from attempting to establish identity and/or facts about a borrower? Honest answers only please." A: (mumble) "Er, doubt it." Ed could give a chocolate bar to anyone who can recite T&Cs from memory, but I doubt it would improve lender appreciation of the minutiae to any great degree. Combine the above with the fact that only purpose for posting comment on this forum is to contact other members, many of whom are bound to be MT Lender Members....... .....well, enough said!

Mass report all post in the MT subforum and stop talking to friends who also invest with MT. It looks like a lot of people did not read the terms.

I scanned the new ts&cs and couldn't find anything that a site visit would contravene. I'm beginning to get the impression that MoneyThing don't like lenders making site visits to find out what's happening with their money and sharing that information with fellow investors. Their continuing silence on what happened to the Bolton and Warrington loans, I find very disappointing. We, investors put up money for these loans to run for an agreed time period so we could plan our investment stream. Both loans have finished well early without a word of explanation for the reasons why. Ever get the feeling you're being taken for granted? Sound like another platform that's falling out of favour?
The Wigan site is easy enough to visit without making contact. I've been 3 or 4 times for an outside walk around the building. I don't know the OP's situation, but an uninvited walk around inside (whilst possible) would be something very different. I got the impression the OP was invited. I might well go for a look round on Sunday, take a few pictures, maybe post them on an internet forum, who knows. p.s. for those of you that stuck with the Warrington loan, it's now coming on leaps and bounds - roof timbers going in place. Not really

I made contact with borrower in breach of rules and without prior notice It is right that my error of judgement was pointed out for many reasons.

I agree cooling_dude that maybe the t & c should be made clearer. It was not my intention to open the can of worms for the things. It seems that whatever I write is going to inflame things. I am stopping posting on this thread from now.

Sorry if I have given the impression that anyone has "squashed me" archie. Thanks for the support. The communications were all none threatening and professional from Ed. I am happy with how it was handled by a highly professional person. Ed and his team are at the more top notch end of the P2P plethora and remain one of my favourite platforms.
