Hi guys do you have anymore Matalan coming to the market? or may be some fell down the back of the sofa .And do you plan to add any more names so its easier to get a spread of risk from what at the moment would be about 10% per part if you count some of the financial firms as being very similar in what they do.

They added a whole load of extra bonds not long ago. It seems that they have been mainly increasing the amounts of existing bonds rather than adding loads of new ones. There have been a few like the Aston Martin, Amigo and House of Frazier

thanks for info -liked the rate of the Matalan bond but could do with a couple more that are not credit card/loan companies so you can get a better spread if you require it

I believe there are plans in the future to add higher interest loans, however, this will of course mean more risk and they are less likely to be senior secured. What I have been impressed with so far with Wisealpha is how they have grown in a steady, sustainable manner.
I read 'boring is good' quoted by one of the chiefs and this is proving refreshing in the increasingly risky world of p2p.

Hi Macq,
We'll take another look at Matalan soon. It seems the price has risen strongly since we bought it last (it's now in the low 90's and we bought around 85-86) so we need to take a look at the risk-reward again before we get another slug. Unfortunately we even sold the amount we hold for interest re-investment so we have nothing left at all.
There will be a few more different bonds coming later in the week (we are continuing to increase the diversity) and we'll also be doing more of the 8% WiseAlpha Investment bond as well. Keep a look out for new bond emails we send out.
Kind regards,

Some more bonds for diversity would be good.
Could you please explain how your SM works, as i understand it you do not have a separate SM page but the loans for resale get placed on the main market page but so far i have not seen any old ones like Matalan,RAC or Vue for sale, am i looking in the wrong place or is it a matter of luck?

Hi Macq,
Yes, right now it's pretty simple whereby if you buy an investment you can then sell it on the same market page (the availability just increases). The price is set already. We will be doing a price driven secondary market (i.e. where you can set the price) once we've got some automated price data in place (to act as a guide for people) and more liquidity ourselves to help manage the market. We are trying to get that up as soon as possible.
Unfortunately most people don't tend to sell. My view is that it's because this is a higher quality lending product and people are not as concerned about a default as in some of the other P2P platforms. It means availability right now is dependent on us buying more of a specific bond so it's a bit adhoc. Best bet is to keep a look out and especially when new bonds come on because when one sells out it may be a little while before more of it comes on. When the price driven secondary market is available that might also increase availability because some people will want to sell at a slight profit on the price.
Having said that as we grow and our own capital increases that should change and we'll aim to keep ready availability of as many of the investments as possible. So it will get better over time.
Kind regards,
The WiseAlpha team

thanks for quick reply-where you say in future people may want to sell for a profit is that at the price they have set or the price the bond has gone up in the bond markets as like you mentioned with the Matalan one rising to the low 90's and will it still come with Yield & YTM figures etc to help make a decision? Also you mention bonds selling out so what happens with the auto reinvest of interest in that case ,does it just go back into the cash account?

As a newer investor here I'm trying to get a handle on platform process.
I note the last interest payment on this as showing 31st May 2017. How long does it normally take to hit our accounts?
tar.

When will I receive interest payments? Borrowers are obliged to make interest payments according to their loan documentation (usually every 3 or 6 months). You will need to check the company page to see the next due interest payment date. Please note, it typically takes 3 - 5 days for us to pass on the payments to our investors. support.wisealpha.com/hc/en-gb/articles/202445411-When-will-I-receive-interest-payments-I have no idea why it hasn't updated to the next payment date though.

Hi Guys, we should have the interest payment sorted out tomorrow and then it will update to the next interest payment date.
And yes when the price driven market is up and running (where you can set price) this will be when folks can see the price in the main banking market before they make a decision to buy. So some people might decide to take profit if the price has risen.
