Just wondering if this boat is being purchased new or second hand? If it were a new car, as there is no vat on used cars, new cars lose 20% of their value when they leave the showroom. Just wondering if similar for new boat purchases? If so and the LTV is based on vat inclusive price, it increases by 20% As people seem to think it's second hand is that better or worse for holding its value over 4 years? Are there any yachting expert's out there who could say if there's a healthy second hand market or can it take a long time to sell? Like with cars the demand will depend on the yacht, so until we know what type will have no idea what the demand is for it.

It will continue to depreciate in value, affected also by how well it is maintained, but the loan is fully amortising so LTV ought to reduce slowly.

And it'd be nice if there were some limits/throttles on bids for a few hours, lest it all gets snapped up like the generator loan was.

What rate of depreciation though? ablrate it would be good to have some projections of depreciation vs loan outstanding over the term Also some guarantee of maintenance and insurance

Edit: ... so long as repayments are up to date!

Hi ablrate, after BHs snapped up the generators in a few seconds you promised a review to provide investors with a chance to appraise loans before going live re complliance ie are investments made with full knowledge of the loan and its associated risks. Will you be introducing anything to help investors with this?

All the Platforms need to take note of and comply with this.
It's ridiculous that Loan Particulars are often not available until the Loan actually goes live.
Something that the FCA should address of course, but won't.

I'll let this loan sail away over the horizon. There are better ways to travel on the sea.
