Following suggestions in the recent update that MT may be willing to extend/bridge the period between when the existing loan ends and when the bond offers an exit for MT lenders, can MT confirm that any additional profit/change of interest rate being charged will be passed on to it's lenders who will actually be the ones taking any risk. This sounds like bridging finance and bringing rates should apply....maybe they are!
Too often a business loan with a fixed end turns into bridging finance when a borrower has to refinance, if they are paying for this, rarely have I seen the rate increase passed on.

I was pretty happy with this one but confidence seems to be ebbing away...
Not sure whether to worry - either there's a spot of bother or the 95.5% capital offers are the best value bis on MT and I should buy them...

There's clearly a spot of bother (the loans are non-performing after all) but to my mind the security looks sound. I've been buying at 94.5% although I'd now need a larger discount to make it sensible to increase my holdings any further.

Yeah this is my thinking generally... the underlying security still seems good and they have had good feedback about the site etc with propsective buyers/operators... 94.5% is effectively 5.5 months additional interest which is a big bonus. I'm already pretty exposed if it does all go wrong though so still undecided - I forgot to log on at 12 and get more car loan

If indeed the interest is paid up to date later this week, I think the rate might start to head back nearer to par than head any cheaper. Edit. I should add I have been a busy buyer in this loan, so feel I should declare an interest in its future being positive.

MoneyThing SophieThing the second charge facility was expected to be in place by now so that interest arrears could be made good. Is the facility now in place?

The promised second charge that has been talked about since mid February seems to have evaporated, although an extra 2% interest in the event that we ever see it.

Whilst 2% extra interest seems a reasonable compromise assuming and only assuming repayment does take place early next month, the apparent situation of borrowers (on several loans) treating interest payments as an optional choice is clearly not sustainable going forward. Clearly time for Moneything to ensure borrowers do whatever is required to ensure payments are made on time. I accept penalty rates can be counter productive, but may help to focus minds a little more. Probably a bit more detail on how it is anticipated the exit strategy is likely to work would be nice, despite a bit of research it is not a format I am familiar with. Merely out of interest I was staying on a holiday park in Scotland last week, my God that is a cold windy country.

Actually it's beautiful in Scotland
Tartans, bagpipes, coos (the huggiest living beings on earth; their owners come second, but just).
Scotland is warm and cosy! Really!
And Edinburgh is the navel of the world. Home of the free.
