Answer to the question "How low can these rates go?" seems to be: not low enough for Ratesetter.
In Rolling there's currently £14m of those misleading "borrower offers" and only £11m on offer from lenders at 2.9% or below. Yet mid afternoon and they're still offering just 2.2% to anyone they can persuade to take the "lend it now" offer. They'll have to pay well above that eventually but will try to get as much as they can from the gullible at 2.2%. No wonder the FCA aren't happy with them. Transparency would be great but just simple honesty would be a start.

There are definitely still buyers out there, I unloaded a few bits and pieces yesterday and they sold in minutes. May have been me. I'm doing my best. (And adjusting with some selling.) Around here a lot of peeps are still away on their spring hols rather than arranging their cash, perhaps yet another factor. Haven't done any counting but get the impression there's a fair amount of buying going on but, with all the new loans, a fair bit to shift.

Not enough new loans and we can't get invested. Too many new loans and we can't sell quickly on the SM. I guess it's inevitable that the balance won't always suit our needs. A few weeks ago it was a waste of time trying to pick up a few crumbs: good for sellers, frustrating for buyers. Now buyers can have their pick and it's the sellers grinding their teeth. So perhaps a time to do some buying and to wait for an easier time to sell. As with any investing, always keep some powder dry.

Chelsea Is The place to be. Except that it isn't in Chelsea, it's in Fulham, London Borough of Hammersmith. Wrong side of the track. (I lived there for 25 years.)

I am pretty sure RateSetter boasts about earning from 2.8%. However, the 1 year market has dropped below 2.8% since 18th May, and now it has been stuck @ 2.0% since 24th May. Surely Ratesetter is selling a product that is not as described, right? Perhaps more questionable is the use of a quote by a happy user: "The Provision Fund is a good feature that ensures that savers' money is protected". www.ratesetter.com/invest/everyday-accountThat may well be the intention but there's no certainty about it and if the happy user thinks there is then she's mistaken.

Perhaps another solution would be to somehow provide a sort-by loan id and a sort-by loan name/description (ignoring the loan id). Would just need a separate column for each for that and would make life easier.

I've got several other current accounts. Are MT ok about receiving money from a non-designated account or is there a problem with anti money-laundering rules? I have done this with no problem. Remember to flag up the deposit under Funds. Ignore the details of the "From Bank" just send it from any account. Cheers.

Normally a lot quicker. Some people might still think it's at 4pm More likely they're short of funds as we've had rather larger loans recently. There's maybe a lot of shiny stuff on the SM to divert the attention of new MT users who can currently get invested without concentrating funds all on a single new loan, including chunky bits from Tuesday's Liverpool loan. Others perhaps waiting for repayments and for all those SM sales to happen before re-investing.

I'll cancel my sales later today if still available. Excuse my stupidity (and laziness) but how's that done? Couldn't see anything.

That suits me well - and much appreciated that you take the time to confer with lenders rather just inform us of the change.

Oik, Did you make the transfer from the app? I did that last weekend and everything looked fine (as it did this evening). I later logged on to internet banking and saw a message re maintenance. Not from an app, via website. And is still showing at MT as pending. Called Tesco again this morning and they confirmed there wasn't a warning re maintenance last night and that many others have complained. Now say it wouldn't have gone through at 6am, despite what I was told last night, but could be anything up to 5pm tonight due to backlog. I'm seriously irritated as there were lots of bits last night and this morning that I would have picked up and want another bite at Plymouth at 4pm. Have raised a complaint. You can have multiple current accounts with different banks.... i.e. Keep the Tesco one but have another one for other things. I've got several other current accounts. Are MT ok about receiving money from a non-designated account or is there a problem with anti money-laundering rules?

Jeez. Just phoned the bank, Tesco. They told me that their servers are down for maintenance every week from 4pm on Saturday to 6am on Sunday. So my 4.50pm payment won't be sent till 6am tomorow despite displaying the message: "Your payment will reach the payee within 2 hours" when I did the transfer and not mentioning any maintenance. Other banks give a week's notice and don't start till 2.am. Seems Tesco's bank isn't any better than their stores.
Will need to use another current account methinks. Pity, because it was handy to transfer cash from their savings account to current account.

Evening oik, Deposits have been checked regularly throughout the day (extra cover because of the loan being launched this weekend). Please email in and we can investigate but we believe all deposits are up to date as of about half-an-hour ago. Regards, Ed Thanks Ed, in that case it might be my bank sitting on it. Made three transfers to MT today so they may have decided it looks suspicious. The last one went before 6 and still showing as pending at 11 pm. I'll check with the bank in the morning before I pester you.
