Couldn't give a monkey's back bottom about a "Secret Society of People Who Want To Feel Super Important About Having A Secret Society". Let them show each other their left boobs and stand on one leg. I much prefer being titillated by posts about sinking boats and subsiding houses.Agreed ... and properties in white haven. edit.. Or non-properties as the case may be. I wasn't going to mention that martin44 :-)

From a drop in capital over the weeked to now an increase in Accrued Interest today.
About £630 has been added to accrued interest. I have checked:
Existing loans I think balance with what I should have It is £136/7 less than the Repaid A Hotel loan so not this
At a loss, I am sure it will become clear.
Regards,
Mike

Between yesterday and today my capital has reduced by £858.92. Is this something that can go wrong during the overnight run or is it something else?

Difficult to reduce with all that lovely p2p income coming in every month. I usually want to reinvest it immediately. This is why I think p2p works for some people... they can 'see' their cash growing which is harder with shares and especially ACC funds. That said, my percentage of net wealth in p2p has probably flat lined in the last few months and is now dropping slightly. I make a decent 4 figure return from it every month which most months I reinvest. My % has also flatlined but what I am doing is re-evaluating the return by platform and balancing this out to spread risk.

Less UK students = more foreign students = higher fees for Universities. Nothing wrong with this apart from training overseas talent, ignoring locally grown talent and forgetting about the next generation of wealth makers in the UK. Looking at the actual applications. A breakdown shows a 4% decrease in UK applicants, while the number of EU students planning to study at a UK university or college has fallen by 5%. It is non-EU students who bring in the real money.

/mod hat off I'm not impressed - it needs putting back a year, or maybe a decade, or a generation. Much of the on-line smelly stuff has now been covered over or erased, but as I tell the cats .. "nice try, but I can still smell it" ... Rambling through the websites, I think we can deduce where the May pictures came from, and it wasn't the June VR visit (if there actually was one). Far from 'soaking up excess cash' on the MT platform, this is likely to encourage astute readers to liquidate (if possible) and export more ... gibmike - care to comment? Btw are the Spaniards still coming or have they arrived? Wash your mouth out with soapy water GSV3MIaC, it's 37c today and I have just had my nap. Spain don't even want Gibraltar, it is just a convenient argument to bring up when one of their dodgy politicians has been caught for tax evasion.

Not being classically trained in economics I suffer from layman's syndrome which causes me to ask "simple" questions so please be kind!
If we would to look at the various possible scenarios of what reasons would cause loan rates to increase, I can only see a few possibilities so let me ask the more knowledgeable:
1) BoE Rate Increase. Am I right in thinking that should we move fro 0.25% to say 0.75% this (all ther factors being equal) would increase loans by a similar amount over time? To be more explicit, if we ever reached say 2% this would have a knock on effect of 1-2% points?
2) Supply and Demand. With the introduction of the smart ISAs flooding the P2P market over the last 12 months it has seen a glut of cash which in turn has pushed loan rates down as platforms compete. Does anyone think that we may have reached capacity with these new ISAs and therefore a possible increase in rates?
3) Market crash/ Brexit/ End of the world scenario. Prices crash, P2P bubble bursts and people flee with their funds. Would the doomsday scenario cause rates to increase in line with risk?
Overall rates seem to be heading south so I am looking for some silver lining scenarios.

It has been touch and go getting all this done for the 5th but I think we all managed to pull together and sort it out. Apart from those we put in charge of Ly, they drank all the repayments.
