You still in 1989 lofty ? You have to pay £24 (or more) in many youth hostels now for a bed in a dormitory, never mind a private room! Maybe. Or maybe I just have a low opinion about Swansea

How exciting.. i may be a part owner of a welsh hotel soon. Not a big part with £24.00 i admit. For that amount you could be the owner of a whole room. Well, for one night anyway...

It seems you can't read the whole thing on line. You can if you pay Rupert Murdoch I think I'd rather give money to D****** P*******

Suddenly saw pbl121 on sm. Slammed my finger down. Offering was 0.02 :-( Well somebody liked it. And at 12% they could see a 1p return on their investment in a mere 2 and a half years (assuming the 1/2 penny rounds up and the loan gets extended a couple of times). Still there are worse loans on offer.

Light hearted question: You have won a decent amount on the lottery/Euro millions, or maybe inherited from your long lost second cousin from the depths of Australia. By decent, I am talking maybe five million pounds plus. Would you invest on here still? Would you invest a great deal extra? Would you, just for the fun of it, like to sneak in and in one big whoosh, clear the SM (not again and again, but just once for the fun of it)? I think I'd open a garden centre.

058 was due to repay £3m yesterday too, although i'm glad I didn't hold my breath Lawyers are "talking" to each other. Interestingly 50 days left on the loan... Lawyers charge by the hour, so I wouldn't hold my breath either. (I was once charged £10 postage for a lawyer posting something to himself! )

Interesting thought... If this one were to be cancelled, it would return £1.75M to investors' accounts. That's about double the amount available on the SM at the moment. Between that, and the rather empty pipeline, and the £1.25M of interest that will be credited at the beginning of next week, ISTM that the supply/demand balance in the SM could change significantly in the next few days. ... And then we're into August, when all the solicitors hit the beach, so likely several weeks of relative inactivity until mid-September. Famine mode imminent, I suspect. Of that £1.25M I'd love to know what percentage of that gets re-invested and what gets taken out as income. Also, if all the repay imminently, soon, within weeks, shortly, on time, etc actually do then there'll be little left on the SM anyway. Will that garden centre start to look tempting? Presumably SS don't want a large wedge of cash lying round in investors accounts as its feasible for that money to be withdrawn, so (conspiracy hat on) I wonder if some of these loans may "delay" repayment/cancelling until there's a new one ready to swallow up the surplus cash? (if the Arboretum goes live on the day that this loan is cancelled then I shall wear that conspiracy hat with pride )

When someone offers a personal guarantee, what does this actually mean in practice? Is there some kind of legal structure to this, or is it basically a glorified "scouts honour".
How would it help in the event of a default? Does it help with retrieving monies, or is it simply an interesting way of punishing the defaulter?

Problem with the repossesion title? May reappear in September. Did I miss something? Fairly sure it is "possessory title". That makes more sense. Have to admit I had to Google that term as its not something I've come across before - can't say I fully understand what it means even then. However, not convinced that this will be quick to sort out.

The developer in me says that it's a software error - I don't recall ever seeing an account with negative days actually getting settled, so has this scenario ever have been tested in live? I bet myself a jam tart that its a classic MIN(end_date, SYSDATE()) or MAX(end_date, SYSDATE()) type of error. However its nice to see the interest showing up a positive when you export the data to Excel - that'll be a nasty shock to the guy balancing the books at SS...

my interest of PBL25 is showing as -546.35 ..... SS reply does not resolve it... Indeed, still not right for me. Showing as a negative interest amount in the repaid loanparts (although if you click on the show all loanparts, it appears as a positive). The DFL003 loanpart has a age of 0 days - hence no interest showing. I suspect their email response is what they *plan* to happen, but looks like some gremlins have got into the system... Like others on the forum I bought a part in the old loan a few days ago so that it would automatically roll into the new one, and at present I've been hit with about a -%4.75 interest payment. I'm only in for a small sum, but there was over 60K available the other day, so its possible there's some BH out there who's going to get a very nasty shock if they look at repaid loanparts tonight. Not panicked though - just a few tweaks in the data in the backend should clear it all up nicely.

Yes, PBL025 now repaid. Rather unfortunately I appear to owe SS a huge amount of interest because the end date has been set to some time in February instead of today. Time to raise a ticket... Yes, I've got that too. Could this be the original end date of the loan? It was substantially in the negative. I think I'll give them a few minutes before I complain about my massive 5p worth of interest...

This one appears to be back on the market for £370,000 (I don't think I'm allowed to post the link, but I'm sure with a bit of Googling you can trace it in the same way I did). Would seem its also on sale for 240 for the shops and 130 for the flat above. Note to estate agent - tidy up the kitchen before photographing it!
