This is a deal breaker for me on ViaInvest.
I only found this forum yesterday and this thread caught my eye, I had no idea they are withholding taxes since they don't mention anything during the sigh-up process. But okay, after reading a bit and googling around, I managed to ask for a table taxation relief form my the local tax authorities (Netherlands), waiting for the papers from the post. Now after all that and reading more carefully, I notice they are withholding 5% anyway on polish loans, which is the vast majority of the loans I have invested.
I am not even sure they are going to accept my papers, they are asking the loan originators addresses to be present on them but there was not an option for that to be filled in when
I asked the certificate for.
I once saw a paper from nl, they just state that you pay taxes there. Was sufficient in my case as my country does the same. Never touched a polish loan though

Plus for viainvest: imo the most secure platform out there. Solid mother company with earnings through the last years.
Btw, if you invest through a company, it might be a different story with the withold taxes

First, my tax authority just issued a letter where they certified that I pay taxes in my country. That was it, for it was filling out an online form, all settled. Netherlands do the same. For Germans etc it gets harder as they have to fill another form. Second, with regards to the regulation, you might find this post on my blog helpful www.p2phero.com/2018/01/15/regulation-of-p2p-loans-with-focus-on-the-baltics/?lang=en Third, about the same t&c's. The companies are copycats. Viainvest, or better say the mother company, via sms group, used viventor for funding their swedish loans prior to launch viainvest. So these companies had at least worked together. I know of cases where managers/employees were lured away to competitors. Happens everywhere in all industries. If beyond that more connections exist between two or more platforms is out of my knowledge.

You would see a message in your account overview that the certificate is required. At least it showed in mine

Welcome. Viainvest is currently the only platform requiring a tax certificate (to my knowledge). Viventor used to, but not anymore

I am not sure to be honest, but on Polish 5% (pretty sure) and all others 23% of the interest received (might be different from country to country). Viainvest does not refund if you send your certificate afterwards. Gone is gone...
From which country are you?

Hi wiseclerk, What precisely are " tax/residency certificates to avoid withholding taxes"? There is no reference to this during the sign-up process. Is this an unpleasant surprise awaiting for when I try to withdraw? Thanks, CC Not when you withdraw, when you get interest paid. There always will be a deduction without the ceetificate. Polish loans have always deducted taxes, even with certificate. In my country I asked the tax authority to give me a certificate of tax residency, which states that I pay all taxes in my country. Name might defer from country to country.

Normally in the beginning of a new month lots of new loans are added. Hopefully this will relax the situation

Could you elaborate on the fltv? Why do you think this is a good number to publish? For me it is misleading to some extent.
