RS are sending helpful emails again!
I relent some of my RYI from 1 yr market back into 1 Year market?
"Thank you for your request to release £550.00 from your investment in the RateSetter 1 Year product.
We are processing your request as quickly as we can, but immediate access to your money is not guaranteed. Your matched loans will need to be transferred to another RateSetter investor before your investment can be released.
What’s happening now?
The released investment of £139.63 is now in your Holding account. The other loans that you requested to transfer are currently waiting to be transferred to another RateSetter investor. Matched loans will be sold on a “last in, first out basis”, i.e. starting with the most recent contract, regardless of rate.
We will email you to confirm once your other loans have been transferred and your investment released. This will include your capital and accrued interest , minus the Transfer fee and less your Provision Fund contribution*. The funds will then be in your RateSetter Holding account and available for you to withdraw, which shouldn’t take longer than 48 hours....."

To be clear- I was only in 1 yr and (5 yr modestly). I was ok with these markets and security backed loans in property. Since I am where I hoped to be with 100% capital withdrawal and related interest, I tried a little experiment today with a loan and then modest RYI. £10.00 1 Year Queueing 22/10/2020 432400 Requests in front of you 262
I think the above tells and interesting story, Only 262 in queue at point of RYI!

I have successfully reduced my exposure. Thanks to all and thanks to RS for getting there!

I too had a RYI on this - 1 Yr 481 yesterday - but it was due on the 12th October but in default. Paid out in full today! Repayment not RYI

As I am virtually home and dry with no appreciable loss. I did this RYI today to be able to see where things are!
This loan is 'in default' and is expected to be PF covered at some point.
It only has a month until maturity. Interesting that there are less than 600 RYIs in 1 year as of today!

Or was it perhaps actually an early repayment? I've had several of those in the 1Y. Actually both our 1Y ISA's has now sold so its academic, just got an email with the breakdown and fees etc for my 1Y ISA check Mrs Aju and she sold her 1Y ISA - she'll send me the email soon I guess. star dust the following 1Y sales have completed today. Both full releases aju 403188 Mrs aju 403405 Thanks I think maybe I did edit and they reissue the Q number! It is not an early repayment as the loan has defaulted so would be one for PF at some point. For me the announcement makes little difference. Due to doubts about the provision fund (I did not envisage it could avoid a hair cut even with a mild recession) and transparency around it (most notably the failure of RS to have an independent audit of the PF, albeit 3 years ago they did say it was on the to do list), I have been running down my 5 year investment since May 2016. I have now had well over 99% returned and most of what remains is due to repay before the end of this year. Thus I see little point in changing strategy. I have however made a very decent profit on my investment since 2013 when I first invested, but I feel now RS is not the investment product for me. I wish others well what ever they decide. W35I am in a similar position with last RYI ( 1 Year) about to be released.

So my last substantive investment is drawing to a close meaning that I have all capital out and most of the interest earned over time.
NS&I have capitulated, so a transfer over to a fixed rate 12 month bond is secured (Aldermore) while it lasts as a holding account for 12 months for the NS& I stuff.
I think I will take a year out of any further investment and see which way the wind blows.
This year before lockdown I bought a campervan (I now have 2).
I have 3 caravans, 2 old 'conversation pieces' and am being offered 50% more than I bought a newer one for in 2016.
Husband has an old kit car and a classic 1960's Lotus.
So I am stumped as to what to do.
Brother in law is collection classic and modern motorbikes!
All suggestions welcome!

Persuaded husband when he reach his state pension age 5 years ago to NOT take his pension (as we could manage without it then as I had occupational and state and he had occupational)). We have 'diversified" with purchase of assets over the last 15 years or so.
So it is accruing as a 'lump sum' with an annual interest payment of 2.5% over bank rate for the period left. So essentially it is a 'savings"pot (with interest better than anything other than P2P 5 years ago) by way of HMRC/DWP.
It can be taken at any time as a taxable lump sum. However, it husbands direct annual "income" (which excludes interest from savings etc) falls into a low earner threshold, if the pot is taken at the end of the tax year and he still has low earner status, it's I believe paid tax free!
The above is my understanding. If anyone knows any better do enlighten me!
Managing our financial affairs is very necessary as 2 family members have long term chronic illness which has prevented them working. Interesting as it is it's no hobby I can assure you!
