Could someone tell me why some banks have “similar” user interface, even the User IDs? RCI, GH, FM they look alike. They use the Newcastle Building Society white label savings platform... www.newcastlesolutions.co.uk

Yet another example of how a proportional electoral system gives both representation and stability. Netherlands PM Rutte wins a fourth term, his party is the largest one with 35/150 seats, and he leads a fourth consecutive government that is representative of the majority of people's views. Mature, effective and consensual democracy, unlike the sham we have here of huge Parliamentary majorities allowing the imposition of policies supported by only a minority of the electorate. www.theguardian.com/world/2021/mar/17/netherlands-election-mark-rutte-on-course-to-win-fourth-termI agree with you on the electoral system but.... did you have to use Rutte as the example? I mean this is the guy who espoused herd immunity yet when it comes to vaccine adverse events adopts the "precautionary principle". Jesus, that makes my blood boil. Sorry, had to say it.

What level of neutralising antibody protects from COVID-19?www.medrxiv.org/content/10.1101/2021.03.09.21252641v1[This article is a preprint and has not been peer-reviewed] "Relationship between neutralisation level and protection from SARS-CoV-2 infection" mRNA-1273 = Moderna BNT = Pfizer/BioNTech NVX = Novavax rAd26/rAd5 = Sputnik (Russia) Covaxin = Bharat (India) Ad26 = J&J ChAdOx1 = AZ/Ox CoronaVac = Sinovac (China) I'm interested by the three viral vector vaccines. Sputnik appears to have better efficacy and I wonder if this is in part due to using two separate viral vectors for the initial and booster? If true then why doesn't the AZ/Ox vaccine employ two viral vectors? Speed of development and simplicity perhaps? Preserving othe vectors for future vaccines (whether for variants or a different disease)? The viral vector ChAdOx1 was developed by Vaccitech (https://www.vaccitech.co.uk/technology/) and they say "MVA is an extremely effective boosting agent" so why isn't it being used? Edit: forgot to add that J&J is a single dose viral vector. The study also models the degradation in efficacy over time... "Predicting the effects of declining neutralisation titre. Assuming the observed relationship between neutralisation level and protection is consistent over time, we estimate the decline in efficacy for vaccines starting with different levels of early protection" It's based on antibody levels and therefore one would hope some long term protection is provided by other elements of the immune system which is primed by vaccines (T-cells).

The wreckage of SN10 has been cleared and SN11 sits ready on the launchpad. From a twitter exchange with Musk it appears the heavy landing (look closely and it bumps) was caused by a fix to prevent the issue that scuppered SN8. One of the header tanks used in descent lost pressure ("ullage") on SN8 causing the flame-out so to maintain pressure they back-fed it with Helium (inert) on SN10 but that contaminated the liquid methane fuel causing the Raptor to lose thrust. The alternative is " autogenous pressurization" in which hot exhaust gases are fed back into the tanks to maintain pressure, which was used in the Space Shuttle external tank. It's fascinating stuff because we get to follow along in the development progress.

What I find insane is that unless you follow these things you wouldn't know that SpaceX Falcon 9 + Merlin has, within the last couple of hours, delivered another 60 Starlink satellites to orbit (the 20th batch) to provide functioning satellite based broadband comms using a booster reused 8 times AND landed it autonomously on a drone ship to be re-used yet again. Considering where they were 5 years ago this is simply staggering and I wonder where we'll be in another 5 years with Starship + Raptor.
Peter Beck and Rocket Lab have just announced they'll fund raise to build the Neutron rocket with re-usable first stage which is set to compete with Falcon 9. What do they say, immitation is the best form of flattery or something?

NS&I funding target for next year is just £6bn. A somewhat dramatic drop from this year's target of £30-40bn. I doubt these new Green Bonds will pay that well but if they do (and remember they'll be a flagship product) then we should expect cuts in Premium Bond prize money to compensate.

I have THE widest smile right now You and me both. That was impressive. Not perfect, but damn, impressive. Almost more impressive for the fact that it was so nearly right. Love him or loathe him Mush does make some incredible things happen. Fabulous, it's just blown itself up.

we could be on. I've not watched StarShip launch live before. Exciting. SpaceX stream now live... www.youtube.com/watch?v=DDEgFsefrGwEdit: aborted on ignition of Raptor engines - "outside of expected bounds" (I think he said)

I'm curious as to how this platform is doing given the current climate? I ask because I see they're offering 2% cashback via the usual suspects which I guess means they're still trying to attract new money.

I'm not a Londoner but I'm curious.... prompted by the proud Londonder comment.
Oddschecker have Brian Rose as 2nd favourite. Got to be honest and say I've never heard of him but Wikipedia suggests his views and interview guests(!) are pretty dangerous. The Oddschecker list is quite the thing, not a sign of Rory Stewart either.
Is this normal?
