Not sure what it is meant to give them in terms of improved performance or efficiency but at least no polar bears will be killed in the record breaking attempt.

What kind of rubbish are FS serving up now? to even consider putting this comment in a loan description tells me how gullible they are & shows how they will believe anything a borrower tells them
"interest from the oil and gas industry for crew transfer to and from rigs in the North Sea" would the borrower care to tell us which company?................................no thought not as no such company exists except in cloud FS land
I have been in the offshore game now for over 35 years & I can categorically state that no Oil Company would ever, ever consider using this toy as a means to transport crewmen to a Rig or Platform
1: The work force would quite rightly never get into this boat &
2: How would the guys get transferred to the Rig from this toy? It is a difficult enough operation when using a 200+ft Supply Boat with a clear deck, so to try & use this thing bobbing about in a 10ft swell is a big no no
FS really need to get a grip

I do not believe that they feel they are posting junk. It's not just restricted to boat loans. Property also springs to mind. They are simply out of their depth and whilst it is more convenient to post the absolute rubbish feedback from the borrower, it does demonstrate a level of naivety on the part of FS staff which is bringing the platform into disrepute. It's sad as I believe somewhere within FS, there is a good business model trying to get out. But whilst they continue to manage to fund everything then there's no reason to change.

I believe FS are happy to take on any loan knowing there are plenty of investors who will throw money at it. What do FS lose by dodgy loans? Nothing.

I wouldn't necessarily call them all investors but will refrain from using a different interpretation. It's not going to happen but IMO, this forum should be compulsory reading before all prospective lenders are allowed anywhere near a P2P platform.

Agreed but I also wonder if such statements about an alternative use which is clearly 100% wrong are legal when selling such a financial product.
I know nothing about the powerboat business but my research has indicated to me that this boat is at best worth 30% of the valuation quoted. Virgin Alantic Challenger II was sold to a Sheik then left rotting and has now been restored. This historic boat is on the market for under 50% of what she cost RB (and that is after major renovation and re-fitting costs).
For younger members I can remind them that Virgin Alantic Challenger I sank in 1985 after hitting something in the water - hands up who laughed at Monsieur Fungus! This was "only" 2,850-miles rather than over 22,000 miles.
On the other hand I have had a nibble at the 52ft Sports Cruiser Renewal offer. The valuation seems OK to me at £150K. This looks a very comfortable, high quality and reliable boat to me and would be very derisable to own. If I had the money, which sadly I haven't, would I buy a luxury sports cruiser for £150K or this boat for "£1.75m" - answers on a digital postcard...
Saturday 1320 hrs : Sports cruiser 87% filled This boat 49% filled QED

never heard of that - interesting but not sure if this is proven technology? en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Emulsified_fuel www.exomission.de/index.php/en/technologien-3/kraftstoff-wasser-emulsion-kweWater injection into the fuel systems of stationary steam boilers is not new, I worked in a hospital in the UK where we did just that. What was supposed to happen is that you injected a small amount of fresh water into the fuel feed almost at point of burn. When the water hits the flame, it turns to steam & expands to over 1500 times its volume. This helps the fuel to atomise, increasing its surface area, & improving the amount actually burnt, reducing the waste. Basically, its a fuel efficiency measure. I did work on a ship where we had a very small leak on a diesel generator intercooler, which meant that small amounts of sea water were being drawn into the combustion chambers when the engine was running. Within a couple of hours, the turbocharger was clogged with gunge & stopped working. Basically, the water evaporated & left the over 22000 ppm of dissolved solids to bake on to the turbine. I'd love to see it working if they have actually cracked it. P.S. I'm not investing

14% and a free boat ride, what's not to like! I have a bit of a sinking feeling about the free boat ride.

14% and a free boat ride, what's not to like! Hope it turns out better than the free boat ride (won by someone here) on one of the Mackem (red and white) boats.
