But I have just read on a powerboat trade page in an article dated today
transom - lovely technical term ....I just wonder how long all the above will take and then there are the sea trials. However much will that cost - I thought filling my tank was expensive but goodness know how much this baby takes!
To take a brand new boat and then trash her for over 25,000 miles strikes me as a tad ambitious - I wish this team well but as of yet all I see is massive cost overrun and so signs of sponsorship - am I missing something?

Well sorry if I appear a tad cynical but we have heard all this before and we were told sponsorship is imminent for months- when I were a lad I had the potential to be over 6' tall but sadly that never happened! I hate to think just how much this one will cost to finish, then do extensive sea trials, then the massive logistical exercise in booking the safety boat, co-ordinating fuel and supplies etc etc (I think the Suez canal needs to be booked in advance?)
I can see £7m easily being swallowed up here - think I will give this one a wide berth but will see about a poll but for me it is clearly "man overboard".
Just noticed this one is already 17% filled - at this rate it is going to fill sometime tomorrow - good news for the current investors - I hope!

I noticed on the previous loan they were in 'advanced discussions with a high street bank' regarding sponsorship. 262 days later they are still in 'advanced discussions' - I guess they must be very 'advanced' now ...I take it the bank never offered to loan them the money at any stage in those discussions  |

I wonder why wouldn't they get sponsorship first and then start building the boat? The interest on this loan, considering its length, is quite hefty.

For the more keen eyed amongst you ive removed my post of a sinking ship, not because of any PM or other communication directed towards me but I woke up this morning and my conscience told me that although it was an entirely innocent school boy prank on my part, it could perhaps be construed as having a more serious inference towards the loan and most importantly the project itself. As the intention of this loan is to attempt to beat the record with a crew including some disabled ex servicemen, I felt this needed to be said and I apologise unreservedly. I also wish them every success in their venture.

It is always better to invest small amounts if you are willing to participate in very high risk loans like this. Hopefully it will fill, but if not, I guess it will be defaulted. Both, prospect of refinancing or chance to sell the security at the price to cover invested capital, are very low.
