...and more than 10% has been listed for flipping. Given how much else is currently listed it will be interesting to see how long this will take to clear.

My concern is that deposits are being taken and the deposit money will be released to the borrower (reducing the value of the security) rather than being used to repay the loan as should happen. Since the alpha court case lenders having a first charge no longer gives them priority. The same problem occurred in loan BPF536 Birkenhead. I have received no reply from MT to our concerns. These deposits are definitely intending to be released as otherwise there would be no need for deposit insurance (to protect purchasers not lenders). see www.lexology.com/library/detail.aspx?g=8bd20303-7543-409c-a2dc-13232b565163We are lenders on this loan. Did you mean to post this against the liverpool loan?

I think the terms should be changed to stop the antics of the flippers. Blatant cashback hunting which then clogs up the SM.
If a loan has a cashback offer then it should be unsaleable for x weeks or if sold within x weeks you forego your cashback. Or something else.

Crickey, I wouldn't wish 'something else' on my worst enemy.

And as for those investors buying top class loans at high interest rates with no intention of holding to term, well they're jolly rotters too!

As an investor of strong moral fibre I had a small plunge into this one and copped a massive £4 cash back today. Had I been a less reputable lender I might have invested a lot more and then plunged it all on the secondary market one minute after the cashback was paid.
My trading strategy has always involved holding a loan for several months and then drip feeding it on to the secondary markets in order not to create a glut - not that my financial clout could ever create a glut and jam up a marketplace if I'm honest.

That strong moral fibre sounds painful, would a powerful laxative not cure it?
